How Our Post-Racial President Uses Race Card As Both Sword And Shield
IBD Editorials ^ | July 28, 2009 | LARRY ELDER

Oops, President Obama did it again. He thoughtlessly, carelessly and offensively whipped out the race card.

Some people — not just black — voted for Obama because of his race. Many expected an Obama election to (a) improve "race relations" and (b) make a profound statement about America's inclusiveness.

Obama's election would show how close we've come to Dr. Martin Luther King's vision of a society that judges people by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. He seemed so uplifting.

A biracial candidate (white mom, black dad), he refreshingly responded to Steve Kroft's "60 Minutes" question about whether his race hurt his bid for the presidency. "I think if I don't win this race," Obama replied, "it will be because of other factors. It's gonna be because I have not shown to the American people a vision for where the country needs to go that they can embrace." Well done.

On the 40th anniversary of "Blood Sunday" — a watershed civil rights march — Obama spoke optimistically about the great distance America has traveled, with but a small distance to go:

"There's still some battles that need to be fought, some rivers that need to be crossed . . . The previous generation — the Moses generation — pointed the way. They took us 90% of the way there, but we still got that 10%, in order to cross over to the other side." Excellent.

Obama is NOT "post-racial".

Obama DOJ Motto - "If you're Black, the DOJ has your back"
Obama Healthcare Motto - "If you're White, you die tonight."

“Obama’s election would show how close we’ve come to Dr. Martin Luther King’s vision of a society that judges people by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin.”

***

Dr. King is probably spinning in his grave about now. I think we are further away from his dream than ever. And much of the cause can be laid at the feet of those who make everything about race.

he won because he is black. He got better than the usual 90% support a Dem can count on from the black vote, and millions of whites voted for him to make themselves feel better. Nobody was allowed to ask any questions about his experience or views, because to do so was racist. If he’s white, he’s John Edwards at best.

No, he did not win because he is black, which he actally isn’t, he’s half black and half white. He won, because he was able to to trick the sheeple to believe his empty promises

He’s black. Black is cool. To question black is racist. To vote for the black guy is to show how progressive and enlightened you are. Hello Mr. President. It doesn’t matter that his mom was white. Lighten his skin and he’s a slightly less experienced John Edwards (pre-scandal) with no chance of being President.

NONSENSE.
A man as intellgent as Mr King would understand that Obama only got elected BECAUSE of the color of his skin. If the content of his character had been considered he would not be elected as town dog catcher....

He also won because of massive voter fraud - I speak from experience living in the Cleveland, Ohio area (voter fraud capital of the northeast).

If dimrats believed they could win on merrit alone they would’nt have to cheat - but they know they can’t.

Well that is the only way the rats win. They can not win an honest election. We see that in Minnesota where the diaper boy was able to steal the election from former Senator Coleman. They did try in 2000, but President Bush outsmarted them

As he has done over and over. One message to the crowd, the other to the fawning water carriers in the media.
