I was at a suburban gathering this past weekend and the number of affluent, soccer moms who supported Bush and then voted for Obama was staggering. Bush really pissed them off and the GOP is no longer appealing to them. Short of economic disaster, the GOP has lost some very affluent and consistent voters. Romney had better not be the GOP nominee or we are looking at four more years of Obama. Its insane, but these women see Obama as a young, energetic and sexy guy.
Dont take it too hard, lots of people are ignorant. We came out of the the depression just fine because of FDR. and no he didn't extend it by 7 years.

First of all, the media, with the willing assistance of the GOP, nominated John McCain to run against 0bama.McCain ran to lose, much in the pattern of Bob Dole.
Second, while vote fraud was clearly occurring no one really challenged it with any vigor. Couple that with the fact that Democrats, especially blacks and hispanics, came out to vote in large numbers, while Republicans who showed up to vote were only motivated to vote against 0bama, not for McCain.
And there seemed to be a larger than normal group of Republicans & Inderpendents who were either fooled, didn't care, or just wanted to vote for the first black President (white guilt) to show how enlightened they were.
It was the "perfect storm". And now we're watching the flood waters continue to rise as the tsunami swamps the American economy slowly but surely.
We came out of the depression because Hitler invaded Poland and Tojo bombed Pearl Harbor because the Polio stricken FDR appeared to be a weakening president. Cost lot of people their lives, that weakened president... I think he was a Communist sympathizer and good friend of Stalin. We spent the next generation cleaning up his international mess and we are living with the direct results of his pandering to the Soviet Union today. Ask Billy Ayers...
