A high school hall-of-fame and Christian wrestling coach in Dearborn, Mich., claims he was muscled out of his long-tenured coaching job by the school's principal, a devout Muslim, because the administrator was furious over a student wrestler who had converted to Christianity from Islam.
Gerald Marsazalek has coached wrestling for 35 years at Dearborn Public Schools, amassing more than 450 wins and, in addition to being added to the Michigan High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame, was named "Sportsman of the Year" by the All-American Athletic Association.
Despite Marsazalek's success, however, Principal Imad Fadlallah of Dearborn's Fordson High School ordered the administration not to renew the coach's contract, allegedly in retaliation over the student's conversion and to continue a campaign of flushing Christianity out of the school.
"We are getting a glimpse of what happens when Muslims who refuse to accept American values and principles gain political power in an American community," said Richard Thompson, president and chief counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, which is representing Marsazalek. "Failure to renew coach Marszalek's contract had nothing to do with wrestling and everything to do with religion."

The ACLU doesn’t mind Mosque and State one bit.
Dearbornistan.
Now it makes sense.
When you called, did you have to press two for English?
nope...but it took three calls to get to the right petrson. Name David Muston, 313-827-3006
right person...sorry, I am a little irate.
Enough said.
Most teachers work on one-year contracts. It's a way of getting around tenure (and an idea which I basically support). But not getting renewed is essentially the same as getting fired, unless they are reducing enrollment or dropping whatever subject the teacher is teaching.
In Illinois, my wife (a teacher) filed a protest against the District for inviting the GLSN people in for seminars and authorizing gay clubs, sending a politely worded argument against the move to each of the school board members. Other teachers told her she would lose her job. No one responded to any of the letters. Five weeks later she got her notice that "due to reorganization" she was not being rehired for the next year, despite excellent reviews.
She since moved on to a different (and actually much better) district.
Heavy, heavy charge. If this article is remotely accurate, Principal Fadlallah needs to be booted out and pay damages.
Link to yesterday’s article in the 178-year-old Detroit Free Press (called “the Freep” before there was an internet!):
I think this one will get very interesting indeed.
bump!
So... this is how the end will come
Your link scared the hell out of me. There is a scholarship program for students from this school only. Four years at Michigan. Fund started by a grad who wanted to give back. The list of ‘scholars” for 2008-2012 ALL are folks who are definitely of middle eastern extraction ( not a Smith or a Jones or Sanchez anywhere) and I would put my money on likely to be muslim. Crapola
Don’t know that particular fact. I know the hegira is dated to 622 AD. So there were no Muslims before the 7th century.
Anyone who doesn’t think American muslims will put their religion above country and all else is dangerously delusional.
I know it will never come to pass, but muslims should never be allowed in positions of power or influence in this country for precisely that reason alone.
Good for the Thomas Moore Law Center. The school and the principal are basically cowards; the principal will push and push as long as noone pushes back, and the school will go along to get along, and hope noone bothers to raise a ruckus. Once the school district begins to hear the noise, and especially when they start fearing dollar signs flying out the door, they'll get off their rumps and correct the situation.
Sprinkle with pork fat.
