"The Ethicist," upon being caught donating money to MoveOn.Org despite a rule against Times writers donating to political organizations, claimed that he thought that far left organization was like the Boy Scouts. Details in the NewsBusters story.

Ever since Obama weighed in, I think the media has pushed further and further to the position that "the white guy screwed up". There seems to be a lot of talk about police training, and sensitivity classes, and procedural changes. There is the sense that "maybe the cop could have done something differently so that this didn't get out of hand".
I really don't see anyone in the media speculating that maybe having a citizen acting disorderly and yelling at the cop, and saying "your mama" to the cop, and being uncooperative with the cop -- maybe that Harvard professor could have done something differently so that this didn't get out of hand.
But as the days go by, I see fewer and fewer people entertaining the notion that the black guy made a mistake, or even that it's a two-way street and that perhaps both parties might have been wrong. Nope. It's now frozen by the media: the white guy screwed up.
Gag me.

The ethically-challenged "ethicist" of the New York Times Magazine, Randy Cohen, who writes The Ethicist column has inserted himself into the Henry Louis Gates situation by urging the Harvard professor to sue in order to "pursue social justice."I agree, I think that Gates SHOULD sue!!
I'd LOVE to see the court hand him his head after all the information comes out about his refusal to cooperate with the police officer who was merely trying to protect the "professor's" property from the prospect of yet another break-in (he already had 1 prior to this episode)!!

These ultra arrogant, self-righteous leftists are driving Hussein NUTS with all of their nonsensical outrage. Having exposed his own racism, Hussein doesn’t need the story to continue on.

I think Sgt Crowley should file suit against Gates for defamation of character. Gates has called him a “racist” and a “rogue cop”. He has tried to ruin his career and deprive him of his livelihood. I would love to see a multimillion dollar judgment against Gates.

Please do sue.
Let the recordings go public.
Let the world see what a racist jerk the President keeps for friends.

Apparently for the Timesman, the concept of "social justice" includes the racial profiling of a dutiful white cop by a black radical with a Gibraltar-sized chip on his shoulder .

Oh yeah, I agree that Gates should sue. I would love to hear all those witnesses in court, and hear all the tapes, loud and clear.
To: PJ-Comix
The stupid ethicist hasn't yet glommed onto the fact that Obama wants this to go away. The fact that Obama's been able to get Gates to shut his gob (and have a beer) is testimony to that fact.

I’ve got $100 that Gates doesn’t sue. He knows he was an idiot. Not on the surface, but more down on a subconscious level. He knows he probably got what he deserved, but he can play this arrest into an illusion of credibility. If it gets booted out of court, that false credibility will take a hit. There’s just no point, and Gates knows the politics of race pimping well enough to realize this.

“Gates should enjoy a cool one and then file suit, assuming he has legal grounds to do so.”
What an ass****. Writes this column and doesn’t even know if Gates has legal grounds to sue.I guess it’s too hard to check for the facts of the incident.
