The ethically-challenged "ethicist" of the New York Times Magazine, Randy Cohen, who writes The Ethicist column has inserted himself into the Henry Louis Gates situation by urging the Harvard professor to sue in order to "pursue social justice." To see where Mr. Ethicist is coming from, let us start off with his laughable money quote in his current column on the subject of lawsuits:
Gates should enjoy a cool one and then file suit, assuming he has legal grounds to do so. We Americans are often mocked for being overly litigious, but we are not nearly litigious enough. In the right circumstances, filing suit can be a way to pursue social justice, and that makes it thoroughly ethical.

There doesn’t seem to be a lick of common sense anywhere in the Northeast!
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Harvard will be happy to open their treasury to Gates, take all you want. (Harvard alumni take note.) $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Hold hearing in congress...”
Let’s get Tawana Brawley involved!!!
First witness: Barack O’Bama
I’ve got $100 that Gates doesn’t sue. He knows he was an idiot. Not on the surface, but more down on a subconscious level. He knows he probably got what he deserved, but he can play this arrest into an illusion of credibility. If it gets booted out of court, that false credibility will take a hit. There’s just no point, and Gates knows the politics of race pimping well enough to realize this.
What makes me livid is the American center voted for this racist clown to rule over them. It's as if it didn't matter, he was BLACK and therefore we can once and for all rid our collective guilt! All the signs were there, all the LIES were there, all the anti-Americanism!
This is what years of the American people letting standards erode has brought us...
Tyranny!
That would be the just outcome, but with the likes of Sonya Quotamayor populating the courts, justice isn't always served.
If the world was okay with Wright, it will have no problem with Gates.
Gates is probably right.. Crowley is better than Gates..
“Gates should enjoy a cool one and then file suit, assuming he has legal grounds to do so.”
What an ass****. Writes this column and doesn’t even know if Gates has legal grounds to sue.I guess it’s too hard to check for the facts of the incident.
