A link tag starts with <a and an image tag starts with <img.
To post an image: <img src="URL OF IMAGE GOES HERE" alt="OPTIONAL TEXT DESCRIPTION OF IMAGE GOES HERE">
Posting a link: <a href="URL OF LINK GOES HERE">
Example:
<img src="http://www.scoopthis.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/small_pic_with_sarah_palin.jpg" alt="Some Guy with Sarah Palin">
...results in this:
