“Im not interested in her legal opinion. I just want, espeicially at this point, to see the document.”
_______
The Secretary of State of Hawaii is on record as having been witness to at least one document that proves Obama is a natural born citizen of the US. That is one of the functions of the Secretary of State, therefore Obama has satisfied Constitutional requirement. The Constitutional officer of the state, whose responsibility is to verify authenticity of state documents and business, has done so.
His citizenship has also been vouched for by the Republican Governor of Hawaii, Gov. Lingle, who cites official documents.
Conservative media has poo-pooed this story, including Ann Coulter and it is getting no traction with Rush, Beck, Hannity, etc.
The only mention “birthers” are getting in the press is as a punchline.
What part of the “fat lady singing” do you not get?
Can you put the “O” in front of ‘bama’ in my title please. I fat fingered it.
That’s right. All the originals were destroyed when Hawaii went paperless in 1999.
What exactly did Fukino see?
You did not hear Rush talk about this?
“what evidence will you accept to prove his assertion of his birth?”
How about for starters, the same information that John McCain provided to congress satisfying his eligibility to hold office. All vital records, nothing held back.
CNN was lying or someone in vital records was. They have his records.
A couple of points:
1. My understanding is that under privacy laws, state officials are not allowed to disclose the contents of a birth certificate without permission to release the information.
This is why her previous statement only stated that an original birth certificate was on file.
So one would think it likely that Obama or his agents were in contact with Hawaii state employees prior to today’s statement to authorize Mr. Fukino to give out information on part of the substance of the birth certificate, namely, the place of birth. Apparently Obama did not authorize Hawaii to give out other information, such as the hospital or attending medical professionals.
If Obama is okay with Hawaii state employees giving out information as to the place of birth on his birth certificate, why doesn’t he simply authorize Hawaii to release the long form birth certificate (a printout of the scanned version, if needed) to the public?
Is it because the long form version states that he was born at home and not in a hospital?
A claimed home birth would not quell the doubters, and likely would give credibility to those alleging doubts about his Hawaiian birth.
2. Notwithstanding her statement that Obama was born in Hawaii according to her records, Ms. Fukino’s statement on “natural born citizen” is merely an opinion and no more authoritative or persuasive than the average Freeper’s opinion as to what the Supreme Court would rule “natural born citizen” means for purposes of the presidential eligibility clause.
Its the constant stream of ad hominems that got me interested in the first place.
Its not that difficult. Post the document, and answer a very simple question; what citizenship did you claim when you were in college.
This is really pretty simple. He can refuse to answer if he wants to, and I can keep asking, and he can keep refusing to answer. And sending out his flacks to attack anyone who asks. That, really, in and of itself speaks volumes.
Keep it up.
Right on! I agree! Let’s see Obama’s original birth certificate!
You wrote-
“Actually, the more the left screams, the more I doubt his eligibility.”
This is what SO many people fail to understand...it isn't the location of the birth, or any paperwork concerning the birth, it's the citizenship of the parents that determine the citizenship of the child.
Wow — another Obama shill surfaces just as Fukino dissembles — surprise, surprise.
Agreed. We are surrounded by copious quantities of Obama lies, gaffes, and ignorance that we could use to push down his ratings.
The Dems and the media are making a big deal out of this and tying it around the neck of the Republican party. Some here think this means Obama is hiding something and are squealing in delight.
However, if Obama decides to release his long-form birth certificate and it turns out to be legitimate, he would come out a huge winner. Never mind the Indonesian school certificate or the myriad documents he refuses to release. All the media needs is one stinking, official, long-form birth certificate to completely damage the credibility of every conservative.
I know the birthers are well-meaning, but they're leading us straight into a trap. They forget how the press turned what was almost a certain resignation from Clinton into a Clinton victory.
One would think that a black baby born to a white mother in Hawaii in 1960 (?) might have been something rather memorable to hospital staff. It’s interesting that some nurse hasn’t come forward who recalls the birth.
No, its two things. The certificate, and the answer to the question; what citizenship did you claim in college.
That would about clear it up, however.
And it that gives him a big "win" so be it.
""I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawai'i State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawai'i State Department of Health verifying Barrack Hussein Obama was born in Hawai'i and is a natural-born American citizen. ...
That's stronger than her original statement:
Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawaii, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obamas original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures.

At least she is now committed to saying that Obama was born in Hawaii. Now if the Kenyan Clown will actually let the State of Hawaii release the original documents so that we can all also see this evidence.
My own guess is that we can all thank Major Cook for this burst of activity from the MSM, the Obamaites, and from the State of Hawaii.
“he would come out a huge winner.”
Not necessarily. There may be some kickback because it took so long to do it. Remember, he has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to keep it hidden. What was the point of that?
Also, he may be hiding the BC because of the college records. My guess is this: They are making a big fuss of this because they don’t want to release the records. Why not?
If you say you don’t care, have a great life.
There are two arguments. One, if he was foreign born, his mother was too young to confer citizenship per the law of 1961.
Two, that he needed to have both parents be US citizens.
The first is more clear cut, IMO. The second is what Donofrio’s and Apuzzo’s cases are based upon. But it is certainly something that the courts might reject on merit.
There is no trap, ace. It is a simple demand. Show the original BC.
Checkmate. Her statement just opened the barn door.
The Hawaiian law does not embrace selective release. It countenances either release of “the record” or not.
This pronouncement doesn’t wash.
