The Massachusetts Constitution of 1780 declared all men “born free and equal”; the slave Quock Walker sued for his freedom on this basis and won his freedom, thus abolishing slavery in Massachusetts.

The North never fought a war to KEEP slavery.

“There were over 2,000 abolition societies in the North by the 1860’s. Read the Georgian Declaration of Secession and how your democratic party slaveholders fought a war so they could keep whipping their human property.”

Y'all wish to argue your ‘positions’ based on slavery..Fine

Tennessee is taking on your beloved Federal monster again to protect ‘the people’ against more Federal enslavement or Satanism because of the aftermath and growth of Federal power!

Thanks for nothing

My arguing point is simple:

Do or did the States have the right to nullify and secede from the Federal'compact’ Constitution? Yes

Is the Constitution binding on the Federal Government as well? Yes

Is the Federal Government supreme? NO, The Constitution Is!

Was Secession discussed at the Constitutional Convention? Yes

Did the States surrender their Sovereignty? No, How would the delegate it if they did ‘10th Amendment’

Because of your Lincoln disregarding the Founders intent we now have a supreme Federal Government that was meant to be a agent on behalf of the several States..The Constitution was to be binding on both not to be a tool of usurping and collectivism

Good day
From Tennessee

have a dixie day Pictures, Images and Photos

Funny thing about Yankee...Y'all are all for States rights and talking a good game! Until it may hurt your feelings or pocket book,of course.

It also currently says:

Article IV. The people of this commonwealth have the sole and exclusive right of governing themselves, as a free, sovereign, and independent state; and do, and forever hereafter shall, exercise and enjoy every power, jurisdiction, and right, which is not, or may not hereafter, be by them expressly delegated to the United States of America in Congress assembled.

The Frame of Government.

The people, inhabiting the territory formerly called the Province of Massachusetts Bay, do hereby solemnly and mutually agree with each other, to form themselves into a free, sovereign, and independent body politic, or state by the name of “THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS”

Too bad those southern slaveowners started that war based on slavery. If they would have embrased freedom for their fellow man, they could have gone their separate ways peaceably since there were multitudes of Northerners who wanted the “erring sisters to go their own way”.

Your ancestor’s war started the destruction of the Constitution. Without the war, Lincoln woudn’t have had an excuse.

Start a war and be prepared for someone else to end it.

Vicksburg and Gettysburg was the same week. You are correct. After that, it was downhill for the slaveholders and the hated democrats.

Sorry. I’m the wrong guy to spout this to.
Most Southerners didn’t’ own slaves. They were fighting because “Y’all still here.” Or for states rights. Once you got past the fine language of emancipation and union, the Yankees were fighting because the idea of a 10% tariff in New Orleans, Savannah and Charleston left them with a vision of grass growing in the deserted streets New York and Boston.

God save the South.

I didn’t spout off on you. I said you were correct.

Since you started, no southerner can ever honestly answer the question: A state’s right to do what exactly?

Their Declarations of Secession answers that question. Slavery

"Your ancestor’s war started the destruction of the Constitution. Without the war, Lincoln woudn’t have had an excuse."

My ancestor's fought to be free from you not-so-noble liberal Hitlers! "

"Start a war and be prepared for someone else to end it."

Y'all started it! Years of abuse and dealing with your holier than thou attitude would drive any sane person to want a separation!

Texas Senator Louis T. Wigfall, 1861: That the people of the North shall consider themselves as more blessed than we, more civilized, and happier, is not a matter at which we would complain at all, if they would only content themselves with believing that to be the fact; but when they come and attempt to propagandize, and insist that we shall be as perfect as they imagine themselves to be, then it is that their good opinion of themselves becomes offensive to us. Let my neighbor believe that his wife is an angel and his children cherubs, I care not, though I may know he is mistaken; but when he comes impertinently poking his nose into my door every morning, and telling me that my wife is a shrew and my children brats, then the neighborhood becomes uncomfortable, and if I cannot remove him, I will remove myself; and if he says to me, “you shall not move, but you shall stay here, and you shall, day after day, hear the demerits of your wife and children discussed,” then I begin to feel a little restive, and possibly might assert that great original right of pursuing whatever may conduce to my happiness, though it might be kicking him out of my door. If New England would only be content with the blessings which she imagines she has, we would not disturb her in her happiness.
