House Dem Putting GOPers On The Spot By Introducing Measure Describing Hawaii As Obama’s Birthplace

Okay, this is getting really good. Dem Rep. Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii is going to introduce a resolution on the House floor today that seems designed to put House GOPers who are flirting with birtherism in a jam.

The measure Abercrombie will introduce commemorates the 50th anniversary of Hawaii’s statehood. But here’s the rub, his spokesman tells me: It describes Hawaii as Barack Obama’s birthplace.

“In the language of the resolution, there is a statement that Hawaii is the birthplace of the 44th President of the United States,” Abercrombie spokesman Dave Helfert confirms.

That confronts House GOPers with a choice: They can vote for the measure, and endorse the idea that Obama was born in Hawaii, which could earn the wrath of birthers. Or they can vote against commemorating the 50th state’s joining of our blessed Union. Or GOPers can skip the vote, but that could look nutty.

You can’t prove a negative. The Dems have to prove that Obama was born in HI.

That's exactly what I would say. "Before I vote for this bill, let's subpoena the original long-form Birth Cert." Then let's see how the Dems respond to THAT!

IMO it ain’t the place of birth = it’s something else on the BC that would tell everyone something about BO that he is hiding.

Cunning is allowing this stuff to go on and having the media focus on it at the time of Obama's first crisis of confidence, and then having the Dems in Congress intoduce this. Obama or whoever is running this show has played the BC thing beautifully.

Not a word from the media for six months and when the Obama cult suffers its first serious trouble Lou Dobbs comes on with the BC controversy. are people talking about the insanity of Obmacare/ The Gates mess? Korean missiles and Iranian nukes? Not the Times (NY/LA), WaPo, the State run media.No they are devoting time to the Birthers. Beautifully played. Sometimes you eat the bear. Sometimes the bear eats you.

Link me to the legal definition of "natural born citizen".

The constitution does not define it. Does one citizen parent confer citizenship? Does it require two citizen parents? Or is simply being born on US soil sufficient enough?

If there is no official legal definition, then he has enough loop holes to slip through under almost any scenario that might be found on the his long form BC.
