CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- A police sergeant who responded to a 911 call about a possible break-in at the home of black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. can be heard calling Mr. Gates uncooperative during a radio communication with a police dispatcher.
Cambridge police released a recording of the radio transmissions Monday after more than a week of controversy over Mr. Gates's July 16 arrest on a disorderly conduct charge.

I know FRs are going to disagree with me, but I will tell you that most typically, in my opinion based on experience of seeing it, police officers would have acted differently than Sgt Crowley.
Faced with an uncooperative, foul mouth abusive person, a good number of untrained or un controlled cops would have probably tazered Mr. Gates.
Crowley actually showed considerable self controll, in my humble opinion.
Sgt. Crowley has a lot more patience than I would have.
Officer Crowley most certainly did.

They did it again, and distracted America from what is really going on? Don’t you get it yet??

I have to agree. Gates was fortunate that it was Crowley and other members of what appears to be a very professional Cambridge police department that responded to the call.

OK, so it’s Monday and I’m slow, but what qualifies this guy as a scholar? Is this like calling Al Sharpton a Reverend?
I watched a CNN video today from last week of Cambridge police officers who also happen to be Black defend their fellow officer to the hilt! The CNN reporter asked Officer Crowley to respond but he couldn't because he was so full of emotion after hearing the support.

Correction: Obama creates a huge distraction by commenting on a local incident, which he does not have the facts on but still takes sides against the local police department.
I have a lot of respect for Sgt. Crowley. He’s the kind of man who should be a cop.
Maybe you can only focus on one thing at a time, the rest of us are just fine.

As usual, it was invented by him, because truth doesn't matter to liberals - the actual words might have been false, but he of course that they're essentially true - it's the whole Dan Rather thing. You can provide actual evidence, and they say, never mind that, let's talk about what I said instead.
