"Palin doesn’t stand a chance advancing Conservatism so long as she remains in the Republicrat party."

Why??? Reagan managed it.

Exactly.

People need to bone up on their history of these parties. Starting a third party for conservatism isn’t a new idea folks.

Reagan saw the folly in this and chose instead to take the party back away from the blueblood country club Republicans in the name of conservatism.

Remembering the election results from 1980 and 1984, I think he did a fine job of it.

It’s a bizarre psychosis some people on our side seem to have, isn’t it? They continue to forward what has proven to be a losing strategy time and again, namely pushing centrists as our nominees...and recoil at the notion of having true blue conservatives as leaders, claiming we will lose elections because of it.

The exact opposite is true. When we embrace our ideals...when we display bold colors and not pale pastels...we win and we win big. When we select who the media tells us is the most acceptable choice because they’re not “too extreme”...we lose and lose huge.

So why exactly would we repeat the same mistakes time and again?

Palin has a real chance here because she has a unique quality that appeals to our Americanism...to our love of country...and does so in a way that highlights the best of what conservatism is...freedom, prosperity, security.

This is a winning message across party lines. The only difference of course is that when a conservative talks about those things, they actually mean it.
