Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood had to be asked the same question seven times in Friday's House Budget Committee hearing before he would finally give a straight answer.
Rep. Scott Garrett, R-N.J., was grilling LaHood about a letter he had sent Arizona's governor, after an Arizona Republican senator questioned the effectiveness of the stimulus package. The letter was widely viewed as a political threat in retaliation for criticism of the stimulus.

The list, ping
Well He at least piped up.
Are we seeimg cracks in the Obamanation?
Scott Garrett Ping
Very interesting. Lying and deception is a prime resume content requirement for the Obama administration. A positive perspective arises when we look at playing the odds with these con-men/women. The more czars and crooked people hired by Obama, the more chances for truths to leak out :-)
As a Peoria native, I’m ashamed that LaHood is from my hometown.
LaHood is as slippery as an eel and it does smell of perjury.
Crack is what he sells at staff meetings.
Secretary La HOod, sir, how much money has your department saved by pumping up your tires
we are in big trouble
It wasn’t just Lahood; nobody put him up to it? I suppose this is one of those things where it will depend on what the definition of “it” is.
Not czars, rather COMMISSARS.
Giving chemotherapy to someone with pancreatic cancer is a waste of time and money. There are several cancers for which there are no studies to support chemo. My dad got liver cancer at 82 and they tried to talk him into chemo. Being a doctor himself, he knew it would be a waste of time, money and would cause him more suffering than dying naturally.
Just another goon in the Obozo Thugocracy.
LaThug = Crooked Combiner Scum.
oooh, thanks for the PING!
I might have gained a few more fans for Scott here on FR.
