Well, those are the main figures quoted in the article and I can see why. But my question remains: Are there Republicans up there who have spoken out in her favor or are they all hunkering down??

Well, she has Sean Parnell, but that is her Lieutenant Governor so I guess he does not count, but he seems like a great guy. Not sure about other Republicans there, remember, she had to fight the corruption in both parties over there, so she has many enemies

I refuse to read the article, but was just wondering how Persily said she "blew up" the bridges"? Betcha he wasn't specific.

Larry Persily is a case in his own right. He's a Democrat who was hired to be on Palin's team after she was elected. He didn't last long and has been trashing her ever since. He's a regular on the cable channels' "Palin bashing" team of Alaskans. He was on the air trashing her from the moment she was nominated for VP.

Mike Hawker and Mike Chenault are charter members (along with Murkowski and others) of the Corrupt Bastards Club, the group of RINOs who got in extreme hot water over the VECO influence-peddling scheme. Some went to jail, although Chenault and Hawker survived even though they took money from VECO.

Jay Ramras is a corrupt, sexist a_hole from Fairbanks. He not only has made sexist remarks about Palin, but after originally supporting Palin's AGIA gas pipeline concept bought $173,000 in BP stock. BP is a partner in the competing Denali pipeline project. After buying the stock, he set about to torpedo the Palin pipeline.

All of this has been documented by Rebecca Mansour (a former FReeper) over at Conservatives4Palin where she's doing the Lord's work. She has written a series of articles that has caused quite a stir in Alaska. Her latest article (which I had honestly not seen til just now when I was researching this post) was a piece written yesterday in response to this very article that is the subject of this thread. It has links to other articles she has written which I WAS aware of. It's everything you need to know.

The Good Ole Boys Slam the Reformer

AFAIK, there are only 4 rock-ribbed "Palin conservatives" in the Alaska Senate. The rest are RINOs and Dems.

She had built a coalition of Republicans and Democrats to get her agenda passed early-on. This coalition evaporated after she came back from the campaign. The Democrats were angry because she had gone after Obama hard, and the RINOs saw a chance to get even. End of story.

Let me know if there is anything else you need.

Thanks, Al.
Rebecca’s doing a fantastic job. The other side needs to be heard.

One really cannot argue against that post.

Still, it has always been my sense of things that Romney was reluctantly in accord with the new paradigm.

He could not stop it here in Massachusetts. Clearly he could have worked harder at stopping it, or at least disassociating himself from the convoluted reasoning that made this new Law at all possible.

He is not a very good politician.

Is that a blemish? The more that he justifies himself for his ineptitude concerning the matter, the more that it clearly is.

Still, he would make a better POTUS than what we have now.

Seriously, what does that mean? Does that make any sense to post at FR?

Do you ever pay attention when we post about who Mitt Romney was politically during the 55 years before he became governor? He was a lefty, he had even dropped his republican registration because of Ronald Reagan's conservatism, he supported only liberal democrat candidates in elections, Mitt and his family are traditionally anti-conservative.

Are you saying that Obama is preferable to Romney as POTUS?

I think that Obama is preferable to Hillary.

Romney when compared to the 3 “Republican” governors of Massachusetts before him was practically a “John Bircher.”

Romney has many faults, but the notion that he is anti-conservative is ludicrous.

Romney has many faults, but the notion that he is anti-conservative is ludicrous.

Romney is anti conservative and you admit that you are not very conservative so you might not see it.

Romney comes from a family tradition of anticonservatism, he watched his father storm out in protest of the Goldwater 1964 convention speech and become the liberal, antiwar presidential candidate himself while Mitt was missing out on the Vietnam draft while living in France.

Mitt himself cancelled his republican registration and switched to independent because of the 'right winger' President Reagan, for years up until he re registered republican in 1993 to run for the senate, Mitt was only supporting liberal democrat candidates.

Even after becoming a republican again, Romney publicly came out against the 1994 republicans and the Contract with America. Romney was one of the most passionate and engaging speakers for the pro abortion argument and assisted fund raising for Planned Parenthood.

All of these actions are who he was years before he became an elected official, and as you well know, it was his term as governor that most people start at when trying to show his anticonservatism.
