Before you start calling names, we and the world have all witnessed the barbaric cultures of muslims- suicide bombings, honor killings, mass murder on a global scale etc. Their religion, rituals, dress, and habits are fundamentally at odds with western civilization. More need not be said. Iraq at this time is neither free nor democratic. We have shed blood to free it from its tyrannical grip. Let them now develop their own colleges and universities.

Yes, isolation from the Western world will make the problems you described go away. Very wise. By the way, your description could easily apply to the Catholic church during medieval times.

Iraq, having been largely a secular society for decades is more culturally advanced than a lot of the Middle Eastern countries. And now, with a few years of direct American influence, they are becoming more-so. They tend to dress like we do, they watch American TV shows and movies dubbed in Arabic, they listen to our music and they pick up American slang.

Wearing a hat or T-shirt that depicts an American sports franchise is a mark of prestige in Iraq.

There is a guard who works at a checkpoint in Baghdad who wears a cowboy hat and swaggers around, much to the admiration of his peers.

The nightclubs and bars are lively here now that the security situation has improved.

Don't tar all Iraqis with that Terrorist Brush. They've lived with terrorism for the past few years and hate terrorists as much as we do.
