Exaggerate much?

Extinction?

It’s true, the GOP lacks a leader and needs a more appealing counter message.

I suspect a cold front is coming down from Alaska soon that may cure all of that, provided the beltway crowd doesn’t try to kill the messenger.

I voted for W every time he was on a ballot. There are some things he did correctly, and I think he is an honorable man. My biggest problem with him is that whenever possible, he went to the moderates in the GOP. Conservatives were thrown overboard in an attempt to form a working relationship with the Democrats.

The Republican base is conservative, and millions flocked to Reagan when his conservatism and optimism worked. Reagan also had the unique talent of being able to disagree without being disagreeable. He responded to attacks, and did so effectively.

When debating Mondale, Mondale was trying to claim that he was strong on defense. Reagan retorted, "Yes, I saw the ad you did where you were standing on the deck of that aircraft carrier. Of course, if you'd gotten your way, you'd have been in deep water out there. You voted against that carrier four times."
