Can you recommend a good grinder that does both electric and hand grinding as you mentioned? We used to have a grinder but it finally gave out and I haven't ground our own wheat since then.
Also, we used to get our wheat in large plastic bins (kind of like a large paint barrel) and also you can buy some special tops that go on them that you can replace that snap on lids with. I can't remember the name of the supplier for those barrels or tops. Thanks for any info, feel free to Freepmail if this is not appropriate for the thread.

Well, there's
this rather spendy workhorse that is hand-cranked but can be easily set up with an electric motor to be belt-driven.
Others I've seen are all-manual, like THIS one.
I'm in the market and talking to some friends who've done quite a bit of their own grinding in the past. I'll ping you back 'n' let you know what I learn.

If you want a serious heavy duty mill that will grind everything (comes with 2 sets of burrs for oily seeds/grains etc as well as the dry, grinds fine flours to course cereals)...
The Wonder Mill (I bought the wonder junior) is the best there is bar non. Hand cranked. Spendy but worth every penny! Can be found at WaltonFeed.com
