Ounce, half ounce, quarter ounce and tenth of an ounce coins. Maple leafs.....

Cost more in coinage fees etc but smaller coins are available.

I'd recommend Bag Silver. Easily identifiable, tradable, portable, and more easily exchanged for value.

An ounce of gold is a grand (+/-), as opposed to an ounce of silver @ $20 (+/-).

I have coffee (and other goodies) for barter, as well. Gold is good, but you can't eat it, and it won't power your car or truck! Most transactions aren't going to be worth a grand (or it's relative value of $1 trillion USD circa 2011)
