Wow. I feel like I just stepped into a big pile of dinosaur dung.

We all have a common enemy that we should be focusing on, and that would be the Muslims who want to conquer the world by killing all people who are not Muslim.

We have enough trouble coming from the Whitehouse without beating up on each other because of religious differences.

Mr. Robinson, I don’t know what your religious affiliations are, and I really don’t care. But never, in my life, have I heard such foul words about a religion (”Mormonism”) from a person in public life, who has the opportunity to be an excellent role model.

Although I respect what you are doing here on this site, Sir, I’ve lost my respect for you as a person.

“But never, in my life, have I heard such foul words about a religion (”Mormonism”)”

Kind of shocking, isn’t it? This is one place where, in the 20th century, aggressive, in-your-face bigotry is condoned and welcomed. I’ll never forget, during the primaries, when some of the intelligent conservatives on National Review and Fox began to see the really nasty anti-Mormonism bubbling up from the depths against Romney. They couldn’t believe it still existed in the US.

FR is a useful place because you can find everything of interest to conservatives in one place. But, in many ways, it confirms all the worst stereotypes about Conservatives. And that’s unfortunate.

Care to show exactly where Jim bashed Mormons? From what I can see, he made a basically fundamental statement - that in every religion, there are those who go against the prevailing flow of that group (and I do agree that Mormons have a largely conservative bent, especially on social issues), and he said that specifically in reference to Romney being pro-abortion in the past when he ran against Kennedy for MA Senate. If you consider such to be bashing and an attack on a religion, methinks YOU are the one with a name-calling problem here, not Jim.

Can you back up that comment? Please provide quotes. I've never seen Jim say any "foul words" about the Mormon religion.

"I feel like I just stepped into a big pile of dinosaur dung."

That's because you did. I've never said a word about "Mormonism" on this thread or any other. I can't stand the lying two-faced, two-bit political whore Mitt Romney because he's an abortionist, gun-grabbing, big government socialist and that's the truth. Now it's just too damn bad if you think that means I've said something bad about Mormonism, because I didn't. Thank God Mitt Romney is not the face of Mormonism.

So, you're willing to stereotype all Muslims but you defend every Mormon down to Romney? (and Huntsman & Reid, too?) Many Muslims are conservative and anti-terrorist, but it's clear you want to deflect the fact that Lds daily go on the offensive against Christians.

Mormon missionaries head out to 60-80% of Christian homes in many regions of the country/world -- but not a word from you about why Lds missionaries won't leave Christian households alone and only focus on other religions. (I thought you're the "common enemy" language guy? Any lobbying on your part to the Lds Missionary department to call off the tie & backsack bicyclists from those you don't regard as your "enemy?" If not, why not?)

...without beating up on each other because of religious differences

Yeah, MF, please post your a copy of your e-mail sent to the Lds missionary department re: your objection to 60,000 Lds missionaries preaching door-to-door worldwide about a so-called "universal apostasy." Isn't this slanderous behavior on the part of Lds?

And what about your tithing $ that goes to put Joseph Smith - History into umpteen different languages? Doesn't that label all Christians as corrupt professors? Doesn't that label all Christian creeds as "an abomination" to the Mormon god?

This daily Mormon "beating" up on Christians in word & print as so-called "apostates" sounds closer to how Muslims regard Christians -- for they, too regard us as "infidels."

http://scriptures.lds.org/en/js_h/1/17#17

17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)—and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was. I replied, “Never mind, all is well—I am well enough off.” I then said to my mother,
“I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.”
