CNN president kills birther story
TVNewser reports that CNN President Jon Klein has declared a halt to birther coverage -- a tacit shot at Lou Dobbs.
Klein forwarded Dobbs's producers a memo under this heading, which I suspect won't calm the conspiracists:
Since the show's mission is for Lou to be the explainer and enlightener, he should be sure to cite this during your segment tonite. And then it seems this story is dead - because anyone who still is not convinced doesn't really have a legitimate beef.

LOL... I’ve said this before (about that)... anyone who believed that statement from Obama is a fool...
It’s one thing to say something about meeting Constitutional requirements, because those are cut and dried and you can check on them — and if you have proof that someone swore wrongly on one of those forms he signed, you can convict him of fraud. So, that’s pretty clear-cut, when you get right down to it.
But, it’s quite another when you’re using a term like “transparency” because that one depends on who is saying it... :-)

That’s easy... they have an image file on record and they have a database entry on file... those are the two things they have on file...

I remember a freeper got theirs shortly after this story heated up back in the fall and posted it online. It had all of the info(they blacked it out for privacy reasons) but they were born around the same time as Obama if I remember correctly.
This kinda obfuscation is just going to make this story mushroom because it is a lie.
Is the attending doctor’s name on file? The hospital name?
One day the truth will be known. And, those that abetted the cover up will be known also.

He made specific claims that he would put pending legislation online for the public to read and he renegged on that promise rather quickly.
What you see is what we got.
The question is not “was he born in Kenya?”, the question is “why can’t he just release his birth certificate as millions of Americans do when they apply for a Social Security card or US Passport?”

The main question is ... if as he claims ... his father was a citizen of the UK when he was born, how has he been able to bypass the Consitutional requirement of being a natural born citizen (of 2 American citizens)to even be a candidate and then president.
Exactly. Going paperless only means that the paper no longer exists in a file cabinet down the hall. The image of that piece of paper would still be available.
This is spin, pure and simple. They're dancing on the head of a pin, hoping America buys it. What this tells me, though, is that they are very worried.
I read elsewhere that they are taking his repeat broadcast away from him and giving the time slot to JOY BEHAR, of all people! (9 pm)
You know... that sounds good (a good idea) but isn’t that something that the Senate and the House must take care of.
The President is of the “Executive Branch” and legislation online would be something from the “Legislative Branch”. The one branch of government doesn’t intrude upon the other branch in determining what happens...
And in the issue of Obama’s birth, I do not claim that he was born in Kenya. There is no “evidence”.
There are family members who’ve reportedly made statements to that, but no smoking gun or signed statements.
I likewise do not make the claim that the COLB is a forgery.
It’s clear that there are members of government and public office in Hawaii who are doing their best to sweep this under the rug. It is possible (unlikely but feasible) that someone within the office altered the record. There were people who violated the trust of their offices to dig dirt on Joe the Plumber.
Barack Obama’s been running for the White House for well over a decade now. Who made his 1995 autobiography a bestseller? How did a publisher consent to even publish an autobiography on an unknown?
He wasn’t vetted in the campaign. He wants much more extensive background checks on his staffers and appointees (45 page questionaire reportedly in addition to the necessary paper filings) than he gave to the US public.
Dobbs belongs on a fair and balanced Fox.”
Agreed- my first thought.
CNN is getting more like a parrot every day.
When there are 300 page amendments to the legislation 2 hours before it is brought to a vote, even the legislators are not permitted transparent access to what is in the pending legislation.

All that was being said is that it’s not paper but it’s an image file... nothing changes...
That’s definitely something to hammer on your legislator about... for sure...
