CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein told staffers at the cable news network Thursday night that the supposed controversy regarding the legitimacy of President Obamas birth certificate is a dead story after anchor Lou Dobbs drew attention for raising the issue repeatedly on his radio program.
The website TVNewser reported today that Klein sent an e-mail to staffers of Lou Dobbs Tonight just as the program went to air, informing them that CNN researchers had determined that Hawaiian officials discarded all paper documents in 2001. A long-form birth certificate with details about the doctor who delivered Obama no longer exists, they reported. The shorter Certificate of Live Birth noting Obamas birth on Aug. 4, 1961, that has been made public is the official record.
It seems to definitively answer the question, Klein wrote, according to TVNewser. Since the show's mission is for Lou to be the explainer and enlightener, he should be sure to cite this during your segment tonite. And then it seems this story is dead -- because anyone who still is not convinced doesn't really have a legitimate beef.
In his show Thursday, Dobbs did note the explanation from Hawaiian officials, though he went on to devote another segment to the topic, interviewing CNN contributor Roland Martin and Rep. Ted Poe, a co-sponsor of a bill that would require future presidential candidates to produce their birth certificates.
Here's Dobbs' opening:
President Obama promised transparency and openness in his administration. Yet, he's chosen not to release his original birth certificate or a copy of it. And a number of Americans are asking, why not? The left-wing media has attacked me because I simply asked the question. Meanwhile, the state of Hawaii says it can't release a paper copy of

Who the hell cares his Network even loses to MSNBC from time to time.
So no one born in Hawaii can find out who their Doctor was on the birth certificate prior to 2001?
I am just curious...do other states right now have birth certificate that shows the doctor, etc...or is it all the short form?
This new development seems Odd.
CNN.....CNN..... Didn’t they used to be...... no..... doesn’t ring a bell.
ROTFLMAO
I’m reminded of all the times we were told that our fight against amnesty was lost. LOL
Can you imagine the calls he has taken from A**holerod and the lawyers.
HA HA! nice try.
Who cares what the THIRD PLACE news network thinks anyway?
Maybe THIS IS WHY YOU ARE THIRD PLACE~! YA THINK?
Must be nice to just declare you are right and stick you head in the sand, thus exposing your assets. They only WISH these debates were over, because they cannot rationally continue the debate! But then again, Barry keeps redefining "victory".
In interesting test would be for someone, born in Hawaii before 1961, to request a copy of his original birth certificate.
CNwho? Sorry, never heard of them.
Does anyone even watch CNN anymore? I thought their ratings were in the toilet (their reporting certainly is).
By more than a few FRINOs as well.
Sounds like several obamanoid agitprop liars working FR of late.
If CNN and MSNBC don’t carry the story, what will the .00001% of the country which watches them do for news?
Why hasn't this been stated in the news before?
....the legitimacy of President Obamas birth certificate is a dead story after anchor Lou Dobbs drew attention for raising the issue repeatedly on his radio program.

Well Jon, if it is a dead issue, then Comrade Obama would not mind UNLOCKING HIS DOCUMENTS IN WASHINGTON FOR PUBLIC VIEWING, right??? Then he can also cancel his executive order that has them locked up and only accessible by a couple of his cronies....how about that idea Jon???
If they discarded the original documents, what is it, exactly, that Hawaiian Gov. Linda Lingle placed under lock and key???
