WASHINGTON -- Addressing the tempest created by his response earlier this week to the arrest of Harvard University professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., President Barack Obama said he could have "calibrated" his comments differently and expressed hope that the matter can become a "teachable moment."

In a surprise appearance in the White House briefing room, Mr. Obama said he called the arresting officer, Sgt. James Crowley, who he characterized as "an outstanding officer and a good man."

David Mann of the Tyler Perry movies is a shoe-in for the lead role in the upcoming movie and mini-series.

Frankly I’m shocked.
I expected the cop to wind up in Gitmo.

Maybe Obama and his Bush-hating buddies understand now why Bush stumbled over his words sometimes. When each and every word he said was scrutinized for political advantage, feigned outrage, and indignation, it was virtually impossible for him to communicate.

This was much worse than anything Bush ever said. And the arrogant jerk can’t bring himself to just admit he was wrong and apologize. I bet this isn’t the last time Obama says something like this (or worse) because he believes he’s too genius to ever say anything wrong. If people “misunderstand” it’s because they are stupid, not him.

That is the face of a man who is in way over his head. He is a Community Organizer period. Both Michelle and Barry are small time Chicago style political hacks that got moved to the front on his baritone voice and media hype. He is racist; he can’t help speaking out for ‘his’ people....he cannot lead, he is not presidential material, he has no experience and folks this South Side Chicago Political ACORN hack is taking America to the cleaners.

Not only is Obama a racist boob, he’s an inarticulate racist boob. I think he’s trying so hard not to say the truth, but not to say in a way that doesn’t actually call even more attention to whatever it is that he’s trying to hide at a given moment, that he can barely get the words out.

That and the fact that he’s not very bright to begin with. But you don’t have to be smart or qualified to get ahead in this world: just ambitious. And nobody can deny that Obama’s ambitious.

Obama...
expressed hope that the matter can become a "teachable moment."

This is what really p!sses me off.

He screws up and now wants to use this as an opportunity to teach THE REST OF THE COUNTRY about race.

Sorry, Barky...you ain't my teacher!

I saw Bush speak once and he was actually very good. He was clear, well-spoken and quite engaging. He also really had his facts down and answered the questions he was asked.

I think he didn’t read prepared speeches very well, and the thing with his press conferences was that it was like going before a firing squad, something Obama has never had to experience because the press has always been on his side. However, Obama does have to be careful about not giving away too much on his true opinions, because he knows they’re not acceptable to most of us.

Then he goes on to say and this is what pisses me off:

Mr. Obama said the fact that the issue has become so controversial is an indication race remains a troubling aspect of American society.

Is this his teaching moment?

Absolutely. I met him when he was governor and he was clear-spoken and down to earth. But the longer he was president the more gun-shy he became.

If the press beat Obama mercilessly like they did Bush, he'd be stuttering, stammering and crying like a little baby.

I'd like Bambi to teach Gates the importance of respecting officers of the law . . . especially those responding to a call to protect his property.

That THAT'S gonna happen?

Teachable moment????? Teachable moment for who??????????

Seems to me that this president needs to do a public apology and could possibly benefit from some sensitivity training!!!!!!!
