IF YOU ARE A FREEPER WHO CAN RUN IN 2010, AND ARE A CONSERVATIVE WHO LOVES THE CONSTITUTION WITH SOME COMMON SENSE, IN A DISTRICT WITH A FAR LEFT LOON in CONGRESS, and you have a clean record (no scandals) then PLEASE DO...WE WILL HELP YOU!
Ping to some Texans.
** Local MoveOn.org members had penciled in on today’s schedule a protest in front of Senator John Cornyn’s Spring Valley Road office, during which they had hoped to pressure the senator to support President Barack Obama’s public health care legislation. But when Paula Anderson, a MoveOn.org member and spokeswoman, showed up at 11:30 a.m., she found another contingent had beat her to the proverbial punch: A large number of Dallas Tea Party members were already set up, voicing their opposition to the proposal. **

PING a few Texans !!
Ping! Ping! Ping!
Obama is still a bigger boob than Pam !
IIRC, Free Republic was formed about that time to counter them and to get the facts out. We seem to have stuck around also. However, the Clintons did try to shut us down and ended up costing Jim a $1,000,000 fine but we are still here.
Hats off to the Dallas Tea Party members!! Way to go...
FR isn’t called “Impeach The Clintons”.
MoveOn.org (as in Censure and Move On) is still around and they never did push for CENSURING Bill Clinton (or opposing Hillary Clinton’s appointment).
I guess I am a little slow but your comment makes no sense to me. Please elaborate.
FR established itself during the impeachment hearings but was not locked into a reason being for one thing above all others (at least as best as I understand it and have been reading here since before 2000).
MoveOn’s name references a specific agenda item. Yet rather than establish a new “progressive-liberal” activist organization, it just kept the name and abandoned the cause.
Bill Clinton wasn’t impeached in both House and Senate. The calls for censure ended after he was safe from impeachment. Their statement at the time was that he had done wrong but that it wasn’t worthy of impeachment. Guilt had been found. He was ruled to have lied under oath (and paid to have Monica also lie under oath). So why did the Socialists at Move On not push for a congressional censure? It didn’t have to be an “either/or” thing. Impeachment ultimately was rejected. So why didn’t Move On push for “the other thing” that they had once called for?
And why didn’t they oppose Hillary’s Obama Cabinet position? She wasn’t clean.
They were shills, nothing more. It wasn’t a heartfelt or honest call for censure. They just wanted the public to drop the matter.
I’ve since heard that there were ties to Soros but I haven’t bothered to look.
Thank you. I understand your comment much better now.
One small point: The House of Representatives initiates any impeachment process. If a person is impeached by the House the Senate then takes up the case of whether or not to remove that impeached person from office. The House impeached Clinton, only the second president ever to be impeached, but the Senate refused to remove him from office.
The Senate does not impeach.
It is sort of like a trial where the House is the jury that decides innocence or guilt and the Senate is the judge who decides punishment.
