Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer leads former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina in an early look at Californias 2010 race for the U.S. Senate.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that Boxer attracts 45% of the statewide vote while Fiorina, her best-known possible Republican challenger, earns 41%. Seven percent (7%) say theyd vote for some other candidate, and seven percent (7%) are undecided.
In March, Boxer led Fiorina by nine, 47% to 38%.
Any incumbent who polls below 50% early in a campaign is considered potentially vulnerable. However, a Democrat running in a heavily Democratic state like California is often able to overcome weak poll numbers.

Twenty-one percent (21%) of voters statewide have a Very Favorable opinion of Boxer. Thats down six points since March. Thirty-six percent (36%) have a very unfavorable view of the incumbent, who has been in the Senate since 1993.
Fiorina is far less well known. Just seven percent (7%) have a Very Favorable opinion of her, and 12% hold a Very Unfavorable view.
Only five percent (5%) of California voters rate the economy as good or excellent. Sixty-four percent (64%) say its in poor shape. Twenty-eight percent (28%) say things are getting better while 45% say they are getting worse. Nationwide, just 25% believe that the economic stimulus package passed earlier this year has helped the economy.

Like Obama Obama and all those pushing his radical agenda, they are abject marxist ideologues. Their "fundamental; change" and agenda is nothing more than a destruction of the American free market and fundamental republican principle.

yes, but I can’t see dem losing in California. It might be close with only US citizens voting (only once), but in practice ACORN takes care of this..Illegals and double-voting adds at least 4-5% to dems tally.
I’d vote for anyone if it meant getting Boxer out of there.
Interesting. I didn’t like Fiorina at HP because she was the typical finance type amidst engineers. Raised profits, but did it by selling print ink instead of technology.
However, compared to Boxer, she’s a Rhodes scholar. Keep up the news. I’ll contribute. Anything to get Boxer (the pure definition of bimbo) out of office and onto the street where I can flip her the bird.
This Fiorina woman hasn’t even declared an intention to run as far as I know, so wy the hell are the polling her against Boxer. Chuck Devore has been campaigning for months (and I’ve donated to him) and why doesn’t he get coverage?
Dang it! Call her Senator Boxer! She worked hard for that title!
nah, boxer will win. She is going to get 108% of the votes in urban L.A. and San Francisco.
Yes, 108%; ACORN and other community organizers will see to that.
Fraud City.
But, if California seats that should be safe for the democRATs looking are competitive, image some of the other states, where the democRAT machine doesn't guarantee their reelection. I dont really expect Boxer to lose, but I do consider the poll to be a bellwether.

Testing the waters to see if it’s worth attempting to buy the seat, I see.
>> However, a Democrat running in a heavily Democratic state like California is often able to overcome weak poll numbers.
Illegal and dead voters will do that for you. They vote ‘Rat, but it’s hard to poll them.
>> ..Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer .. Dang it! Call her Senator Boxer! She worked hard for that title!
She’d really be mad at me. I call her something a little less mild than “incumbent”.
Now that I look at it, my “pet name” for Boxarocks has a subset of the letters of “incumbent”, and they’re in the right order. Whaddayaknow.
Can’t you people in California do better then Fiorina? She’s was one of the worst CEO’s ever! Damn, California, stop being such a loser state! You’re screwing the rest of the USA with all your garbage Rats and garbage Rat policies.
And as more folks learn details about Carly, expect the Very Fav percent to go down.
Still, I'd much rather have Carly, warts and all, than Boxer.
Also, she’s a McCain jock sniffer.
Wow, that would be great! Boxer is the most loathsome woman in the Senate, Pelosi, of course, holds that position in the House.
Some choice idiot Marxist or idiot Globalist
Buying a $enate $eat might be the best investment in America for those who buy the seat for the $enator.
My concern about her, is the RINO potential.
Boxer is one of the dumbest living Americans today. She is is a disgrace and dangerous to the rest of California and the other “56” states.
