Obama Defends Criticism of Cambridge Police in Arrest of Gates
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=8153681&page=1 ^

President Obama today stood by his comments that the Cambridge, Mass., police department acted "stupidly" in its arrest of Henry Louis Gates, telling ABC News that the Harvard University professor should not have been arrested.

The president said he understands the sergeant who arrested Gates is an "outstanding police officer." But he added that with all that's going on in the country with health care and the economy and the wars abroad, "it doesn't make sense to arrest a guy in his own home if he's not causing a serious disturbance."

Everybody i’ve spoken with, conservative or liberal, is pissed that 0bamster dissed the cop like this. this may just be his undoing. I wish the liberal media weren’t so in-the-tank for him, but a lot of people know about this, and every single one is pissed he said what he did about the situation.

A reasonable man would have announced the very next morning that he made an intemperate remark, that he should have said nothing until the complete facts were known.

How many times have we seen that it's not the act that gets you in trouble, it's the attempt at damage control.

Its been said before, but he should stick with TOTUS, and not speak on his own.

“This man gets more idiotic every day. So now the Police are supposed to enforce the law based on what is going on ion the Country and the world from a day today basis? What an IDIOT....”

He did Slow Joe Biden proud with that statement.

I hope you are right about this being his undoing. I am dying to ask my liberal sister, who campaigned for him, how she is liking the hope and change.

Even if a man is breaking into his own home it could be that the man is trying to get at his wife, who may have locked him out during a domestic violence incident in-the-making.

That is what the cops always have to assume - something weird is happening.

Any sane person would have cooperated with the police, even if they simply lost their keys - instead of hollering at them.

And what kind of idiot tries to force his own door open and goes off like a tea kettle if the cops are approaching and curious about the situation?

This episode just proves that the most ‘rats are 1) morons 2) hot-heads 3) overeducated 2 year olds.

Can you believe these people can vote and have children

Oy, I understand the ‘”liberal sister” (she’s a poster at Kos and DU, but I don’t know what her screenname is). There is a strict rule against political discussion at family gatherings. Thankfully, she’s very heavily outnumbered.

One time, her son was wearing a “gay/straight alliance” or some other kind of pro-homo shirt, so i had to break out my “Guns protect women and children” t-shirt and my USS Ronald Reagan hat. :)

I’ve heard one commentary that this racial distraction takes health care out of the news intentionally, since the president had demanded it be done by the august recess, and it was evident before the news conference that that timetable would not hold.

He didn’t want it to look like a loss, so he gave the media something to distract it. I don’t know if CNN, MSNBC, and others are running with the Harvard prof story or not, but if they are, then that tells me something. If Obama wanted 24/7 health care coverage, he’d let them know, and they’d do what he wanted.

Then again, I could be far too clever by half, and totally over-thinking this situation.

That well could be. Our beloved celebrities better watch their step, too. They drop like flies when the news is uncomfortable.

What I find interesting is this guy runs as if he were recording secretary of the D.A.R. He took all of Hillary's race bombs and turned the other cheek to show the world he wasn't a black candidate, but a dignified, colorblind everyman.

Yet once in office he keeps making all these racial assessments and criticisms. Without a teleprompter he inelegantly spoke his true feelings which were to call the Cambridge police "stupid" and to tell the world America is now and always has been a racist, dangerous nation.

He is a phony for so many reasons, and the ever-growing backlash will not be pretty.

This story, however, has run its course with today's big-gun press conference by the cops. Obama will not go up against the police union. A few more snide, off-the-cuff remarks by this empty Armani suit, and 2010 will be a very good year for the Republicans.

I think so. Next time a cop stops me for going 85 mph, I’m going to look him in the eye, and say, “With all the wars, famines, and health care crisis debate going on, why are you stopping me? Go save Afghanistan, THEN come give me a ticket!”

I wonder how well it will go over...

You must remember that the o only apologizes to other tyrants for America, never to ordinary citizens for himself.

Inquiring minds want to know, why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

Yep. He just spoke again regarding the "unfortunate incident" and repeated everything he said before. Lol. The teleprompter in his mind is obviously stuck.

Inquiring minds want to know, why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

Tempura insanity.

I heard that quote this morning and just about couldn’t believe it. It makes no sense at all. Kind of unsettling to hear a president say something so nutty.
