Derailing Obama's healthcare reform 'rampage'
One News Now ^ | July 23, 2009 | Chad Groening

The Republican lawmaker who has referred to healthcare as President Barack Obama's "Waterloo" says it's "not personal," but he's not backing down.

Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) is sticking by his statement that President Obama's healthcare reform plan will sink his presidency. He says someone needs to "put the brakes on" Obama's spending spree.

DeMint, who recently released a book titled Saving Freedom: We Can Stop America's Slide into Socialism, says Obama's healthcare plan must be stopped.

"The president has been on a rampage, and we've got to stop him. So this isn't personal; it's not political; it's about really bad policy that's going to not only destroy the American healthcare system, but socialize another 20 percent of our economy," he points out. "This is something all Americans should fight."

According to DeMint, another disastrous Obama agenda is the so-called "cap-and-trade" energy limitation bill, which the senator argues would do serious harm to the U.S. economy.

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina)"That's why I made the Waterloo comment," he explains. "If we allow the president to continue his momentum and ram through this healthcare takeover, he's going to move right to cap and trade-- and with the momentum to probably get it passed, and then on to other things that expand government," he adds. "He wants to outdo FDR as far as the expansion of government -- and he's said as much."

Americans need to wake up to the fact that our 'government' is totally evil!

We have elected and sent to Washington imbeciles who are busily wrecking our nation, our economy and our lives!

“Americans need to wake up to the fact that our ‘government’ is totally evil!”

Americans need to wake up to the fact that as a group elected politicians just aren’t that bright. For years we’ve been electing politicians on the basis of personality, or celebrity, or grandiose promises, not on their understanding of the issues, their honesty, their loyalty to America, and their talents. Along those same lines, it is equally important for Americans to realize that an Ivy League education doesn’t mean nearly as much anymore as it may have at one point. It’s high time to stop choosing ‘leaders’ on the basis of the ‘elite’ university they went to. I’ve spent a lot of time at Ivy and equivalent universities, and can say with absolute candor that they are in many ways not on par with the good state universities. That’s just the way it is. It’s not representative government when those in office are sort of a ‘club’ with a shared educational background.

The only way we can get rid of Obama is to eliminate Congress.

A republican that isn’t backing down?

I might have to add him to my list of republicans I’m willing to donate to.

There - that makes 2 (he’s right behind Palin)

Another Alamo, with a different ending..
God Bless Senator Jim Demint, Col. Travis would be proud of you..

William Barret Travis
(1809-1836) Born in South Carolina on 9 August 1809, William Barret Travis will always be remembered as the Texas commander at the Battle of the Alamo.
He spent his childhood in Saluda Co., SC, which was also the home of James Butler Bonham, another Alamo defender.

I’m shocked that offended liberals everywhere have thus far not demanded an apology from Demint and his subsequent resignation for his Waterloo statement.

I’m not sure it will be the Health Care Reform that’s his Waterloo moment. It will be part of it because the longer Congress can stall the vote, the more information can get to the sheeple.

I’m now thinking that the RACIST remarks following the Officer Crowley/Dr Gates confrontation may awaken enough sheeple to realize who 0bama really is and who it is they elected to govern the USofA.

0bama is not Post-Racial, he is a Race-Bait Racial. And he should NEVER have made the remark he did. He got defensive instead of presidential.

Those remarks will overshadow EVERYTHING else that goes on in DC for a long long time.

He is THE Republican to donate to. DeMint is a CONSERVATIVE first and rEPUBLICAN second. We are very proud of him in South Carolina (an interesting contrast with our RINO Gramnesty). You can donate here:

I WILL NOT give another penny to the Republicans, but I have and will donate to CONSERVATIVES.
