WASHINGTON - I’ve been covering Barack Obama for a few years, and it’s usually crystal clear what he is up to. Not last night. This is the first time I’ve asked myself: what was THAT all about?
His prime time press conference was worse than a waste of time. He spent an hour (with the aide of a soporific White House press corps) pouring sand (one grain at a time) into the already-slowing gears of the machinery of health-care reform.
He made no real news on health care, but DID make news on race relations with his discussion of the Skip Gates case – thereby obscuring the topic he supposedly wanted to feature.

I could not even watch that youtube clip. I saw it enough to see ‘shame on you 0bama.’ The woman is revolting in so many facets I chose not to watch her.

I have said it before and I will say it again:
When this “health care for all” crap passes, right now the legislation states that it will be illegal to sell private policies over the date of passage. It also says that HSA’s will no longer be allowed. That means that my current policy will no longer be allowed and neither I nor my employer will be allowed to privately purchase an alternative.
I will not accept the “public option” that I will be dictated to join. I will not give the government control over my physical body. I will not pay their fines, I will not surrender to the impending warrant for my arrest. When they knock on my door, I will not answer. When they kick it in, I will make the news.
How’s that for unification, libtards? You loons are currently legislating my death. I will chose the terms and I will bring as many of you along as possible!

Interesting that you reference Nixon. I watched Torchwood last night, so I went to watch the video of the speech later on. I only managed 5 minutes, but I kept thinking that he reminded me of Nixon. The same hand gestures, the same looking up from under lowered brows, the same look of exhaustion in the bags and shadows under his eyes that even the makeup couldn’t cover or long shots disguise, the same odd facial expressions that contradicted his words.
Seeing zerO on the defensive and looking worn was heartening, but not enough to make me sit through an entire hour.
He did look WORN.
The majority of the, not sure what to call them because they sure as heck are not reporters, are still in the tank for Obama. But perhaps this is a glimmer of hope and change that I could live with. But I won’t hold my breath that it is anything more than a rare conservative who happened to write a story for MSLSD but doesn’t actually work there. It would be nice if what you said had any truth to it but from what I have seen in the not too distant past it doesn’t pan out.
