As I have said in other posts my theory is that O has planned this all along. He is setting a trap for his political opponents that he will spring right before the midterm elections by producing the BC.
He will then be able to label everyone opposing him as right wing racist wing nuts and the public pushed by the media will buy it handing the GOP a final disastrous defeat.

This resolution only demonstrates to me that O's strategy from the very beginning..

A child born of two citizens becomes a citizen at birth as long as one of the citizens ever resided in the United States. There are special provisions for children of citizens that are born overseas to parents serving the government or as missionaries.

One the flip side if you only have one parent that is a U.S.C. then it depends on when you were born.

For example, birth between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, a period of ten years, five after the age of fourteen are required for physical presence in the U.S. to transmit U.S. citizenship to the child.

In my opinion what will be remembered by the MSM from this sense of congress is the fact that McCain was foreign born and still eligible to run for president. Again I think O’s strategy was not just to win the presidency in ‘08 but to secure an final defeat of the right in 2010..

Everyone knows of course that a senate resolution does not have the force of law...

YES -- BUT understand, that the SCOTUS has elected NOT to consider NBC, as they feel it's a Congressional matter.

ALSO understand that out of nearly 30 other attempts by Congress to (re)define "Natural Born Citizen" since the 1870s, S. Res 511 is the ONLY formal Resolution from the House or Senate on "Natural Born Citizen" to make it out of Committee.

Start by checking the Congressional Record (http://thomas.loc.gov/) for:

-- H. J. RES. 104 (2004)
-- H. J. RES. 47 (2001)
-- in the 80s, attempts were added to "English as the official US language" legislation

Congress is not able to define the Constitutional term “natural-born citizen” or the requirements of such for the Presidency and the Vice Presidency, barring a Constitutional Convention.

Congres is, however, Constitutionally tasked with determining other citizenship matters, specifically naturalization.

When Mr. Obama produces his true Birth Certificate, and it confirms what is shown on the Certification of Live Birth, the case is closed.

His father was NOT a U.S. citizen, therefor the case is NOT closed!!!
