Wow: Dozens of Democrats lining up against ObamaCare over … abortion ?

The Standard counts no fewer than 53 Dems on record as having problems with the House bill, but so lopsided is the blue majority that the GOP would need to peel off 40 of them to block it. That’s not going to happen on Obama’s signature policy initiative. Assuming their objections are economic in nature, Pelosi will simply shower the fencesitters with legislative goodies until enough of them are willing to choke down ObamaCare.

But what if their objections are based on something more profound than economics?

Democratic Rep. Bart Stupak said he is “optimistic” that his campaign to include explicit language condemning the use of federal funds for abortion in the House health care bill will pass the House Energy and Commerce Committee. The congressman from Michigan did however say on today’s “Washington Unplugged” that the House will likley not vote on the bill before their July 31st deadline.

Using harsh language to 'condemn' the use of Fed. funds, isn't going to STOP the Fed. Govt. from using money for abortion. Making it ILLEGAL is the only way to make sure it doesn't happen.

You’ve got that right. I’m just forwarding info.

I never trust any politician at any level, R’s included. Even after a pol earns some trust I still follow Reagan’s “Trust but verify.”

With pols, I now use the alignment of verify before trust.

SAMPLE LETTER
FISCAL CONCERNS ABOUT HEALTHCARE BILL

I hope you recognize that the “public insurance option” in the proposed Health Care Refore bill closely mirrors the debate they had in Tennessee 16 years ago. With expanding Medicaid costs and a huge big uninsured population, they created TennCare to provide universal coverage.

TennCare resulted in the most expensive Medicaid program in the country. Within a few years, 45% percent of the people on TennCare were folks who had previously been insured by their employers. The employers had made a perfectly logical decision: dumping their employees into the public plan.

Employers who are paying 12% of their costs now to their employees’ health care will look at “ObamaCare”’s 8% penalty for employers who don’t provide care and immediately dump their employees on the public to save 4%. Those on private insurance ALREADY pay more than the cost of care to subsidize Medicare and Medicaid –-- now we’ll be required to pay EVEN MORE to subsidize the new public plan.

When private insurers won’t be able to compete with a government-run plan, they’ll crash. Then the majority of Americans will simply end up with no choice: just one government-run program. And, with no alternatives, the government-run healthcare will be severely rationed to meet the budget.

This is a loser of a plan.

Please, I urge you, vote NO on “public option insurance,” the failed idea that underlies this health care “reform.”

"Condemning" or "forbidding"? Is it rhetoric or reality?

0bama’s HealthCare DEform is the “crown jewel” of his Socialist takeover plan, bolstered by Cap n’ Trade, er, Charade.

If we can defeat this and Cap n’ Charade, we have defeated HIM!

Democrats literally hunger and thirst for the dead flesh of human babies. Pelosi will get the votes she needs if she has to start murdering opponents on the streets of DC.

That is really helpful. /sarc

Since when has something being illegal ever stopped a Commie from doing it? Remember Congressman Jackson?
