This is un-possible!

Loaded firearms are NOT allowed on-post without the base commander’s authorization.

John Antal was the commander of 1-72 while I was there. He’s written a number of books including a few “interactive” tactical tutorials that are kind of regarded as contemporary versions of “The Defence of Duffer’s Drift.”

I met Alvin York’s grandson while I was stationed in Yongsan...he was an O-6 and I later saw him interviewed on the History Channel’s “Tales of the Gun” when they were talking about Alvin York and the Springfield rifle.

Sigh. Yet another shooting in a “gun-free” zone. Private guns are banned on all Army posts. I’m seeing a pattern here.

Never did understand a lot of the cheating I saw - I mean, why bother to get married if all you do is cheat on the wife?

The psychology of it is that, while the marriage itself is meaningless to the serial adulterer, the fidelity of his/her partner is not meaningless. In such cases, marriage is more an act of possession than it is an act of partnership.

He was back as the BC when I was there. IIRC, he moved up as the Brigade XO after his command, but I might be wrong about that.

I heard about this on the radio. National news. Very sad. What’s funny is I was going to go to the PX today, but decided to work on gardening instead.

San Vito was a fantastic place. My unit was there in 94, after the closure awaiting orders to go into the Balkans. We did a lot of training at Tori Veneri and San Pancrazzio.

You Air Force weenies always had the best bases ;)

and the one at Fort Lewis is freakin' enormous

I was billeted near the big PX at Camp Pendleton in the 60's....that was the biggest "department store" I'd ever been in - and I came from a big city.
