WASHINGTON, July 22 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama shifts his effort to convince the American people healthcare reform is the right thing to do right now to prime time Wednesday.
In an evening news conference, Obama is expected to outline the case for healthcare reform as well as provide an update on what has been accomplished since he took office in January.
White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel told The New York Times Obama intends to use the news conference as a "six-month report card," to talk about "how we rescued the economy from the worst recession" and the legislative agenda moving forward, including health care and energy legislation.

It is so easy for people to slam other people but until they have walked in our shoes, they have no clue. You do everything possible to try and provide for your family and that does not mean going out to eat each night, going to the movies, etc.
Heck, my daughter went to church camp (somebody from church paid her way)without money in her pocket and I feel so bad.
I do not even drive the car unless I absolutely have to go somewhere.
There are some great comments on that story. No one is buying Obama-shamwow.

Well basically I see them trying to figure out what they can ask without making him angry and getting “the eye”.
His whole speech will be blaming wall street, people who don’t want any reform at all (who have read the bill)
cry collapse if he doesn’t get this passed, he will phony numbers ex rectum - promise that the things people have found out (like how it will eventually lead to mandatory government control) are fear mongering.
he will talk about how much better people will get health care that aren’t now. the same old talking points updated .. sprinkled with .. same old status if we don’t do it BS (Bush Syndrome) people want change and this is what they voted for etc etc etc blah blah blah
What pisses me off and makes this a joke is that they still are not ready to call him out on 12 million illegal aliens being covered while 15 million American citizens wont get coverage.
How he plans on saving money by basically telling elderly that they aren’t worth the money when they get to a certain age so take a pill and die with dignity.
How already 12 states have cut back on medical benefits for social security people because they can’t afford to cover them.
How Medicair will be cut by 500 billion to help finance this.
How EVERY small employer will be taxed to help pay for this, thus cutting jobs (cant pay 8% tax and keep employees)
Why he has not been transparent about who is backing him and WHY, what they were given to back it even though we know.
Or probably even the little stuff like how as soon as it is enacted, you can not be put in any plan other than the government one.
Blue Dogs are our only hope.
My question is, at this point do we pledge to support them in 2010 if they support us now?
IMO, if they do block passage of this, then they are actually representing us better than some rinos are.
I have a blue dog for a rep, know him personally. I am drafting a letter tonight to send to his home so I know he gets it - Im actually going to drop it in his mail slot myself.
Do I tell him I will support him in 2010 if he votes no without waiver?

I will bet you that in 5 years that people will be ready to hang Obama from a post like they did Mussolini, as soon as they feel the impact of his policies. Especially the ones who believed him and supported him - they will be like jilted lovers, full of bitterness at how they were used.
