Gut shots claimed Oklahoma City pharmacy robber (Mr. Ersland- OK)

The robber killed by a pharmacist in May died from gunshots to his body, not the shot to his head, the state chief medical examiner confirmed in the autopsy report.

Antwun Rayshaun Parker, 16, of Oklahoma City was knocked out after being shot in the head and would have survived that injury, Dr. Collie Trant told The Oklahoman.

Pharmacist Jerome Jay Ersland is charged with first-degree murder in a case that sparked a national debate. Prosecutors allege he went too far because he shot the robber five more times after knocking the robber unconscious with the shot to the head. Ersland said he acted in self-defense. He said in a nationally televised interview that he thought the robber was getting up.

The autopsy report released Tuesday describes the first wound as a "non-fatal gunshot entrance/graze wound to head.”

Trant explained the first shot involved a three-pellet shell.

Parker was shot five other times — to the chest and abdomen, the autopsy report shows.

“Apparently I misunderstood you. You were not very clear in your statement. There is no need to call other people stupid.”

I thought the intent of the statement was clear and that you were intentionally being dense. In retrospect I regret my unnecessarily harsh comment.

If you have some sort of medical problem you can have someone explain this post to you.

Security cameras don’t measure real elapsed time. A security camera could record something in ten seconds but the event could have taken ten minutes.

If that is still unclear, post to someone else to have them explain it to you.

As I have explained to you in the past, I am a Certified NRA Training/Counselor.

In that capacity I am a trainer of Certified NRA firearms instructors,
I train NRA instructors that not everyone learns at the same rate.

Some people are slower than others in learning.

Some are very slow in their learning.

I train NRA instructors not to give up on slow learners
unless it becomes patently clear that someone is untrainable.

The time stamp on the video is patently clear even to a slowest learner.

Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction

Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot

Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use

“You can shed tears for them. I won’t.”

Nice try, but NO-ONE here has remotely suggested that they give a damn about the 2 crooks. My only concern is gun owners getting jailed by not know when to shoot and when not to. The actions you endorse are not only tactially unsound, but also illegal and will get them a prison sentence and or a huge legal bill. Knowing when to stop shooting is as important as knowing when to start.

I’ll give you another try for the fifth time.

The shooting occured between 1:24 and 1:28 with five shots. Now you explain why you don’t think five shots can’t be made between those times.

Now you explain why the DA explained the dead perp was shot five times with a .380 but somehow you know different.

Now you explain how the people moved in such a choppy method but somehow you think real people move that way.

“As I have explained to you in the past, I am a Certified NRA Training/Counselor.”

I seriously doubt that considering you didnt know how easy it was to shoot 5 shots in 2 seconds.

You are so incredibly slow in understanding.

There are many who practice shooting drills against a clock.

Not everyone is trained to that level of discipline.

It you understood the fog of combat,
you would know that fine motor skills dissipate.

I have trained over 2000 NRA Certified Firearm Instructors.

In addition I have trained over 200 NRA Certified Range Safety Officers.

I am always willing to give victims the benefit of the doubt and would hope that all jurists would also.

Sad to see that yuo would vote to convict this guy simply defending his life.

If a clock is not set to a certified time standard, it will alway be offset.

Offset perhaps for the default time-zone of the manufacturer.

It does appear to be very clear cut for or against.

I make no judgement for or against the pharmacist.

I leave that to twelve jurors and the skill sets of the lawyers.

However, I think first degree murder will be very difficult
to demonstrate twelve jurors.

It does not seem on the face to be pre-meditated.

Watch this angle.

What you will see is cooroboration of his story. He clearly lurches left for cover and then fires. The he closes and fires more.

This is what is known as corroboration and excuplatory evidence. The video is ample evidence that his perception was that he was in grave danger which is why he looked for cover. It's what happens to us all when we are being fired at. Well at least it happened to me. But I'm human like the pharmacist.

Look at video angle in 110. It is obvious the pharmacist thought he was in danger by his lurch for cover followed by his firing shots.

Any lawyer will be able to use that video angle to get the pharmacist found not guilty. It cooroborates his story and it is exculpatory because Oklahoma law allows deadly force if the PERSON involved thinks his life is in danger.

What the peanut gallery thinks doesn't mean jacksh6t.

Right. So why does Astland lurch to his left quickly on the return trip?

He doesn't saunter up and pump 5 into the guys gut. He makes quick moves to the left twice. Ask yourself why. Then ask yourself if you could convict beyond a reasonable doubt when it is evident, to me at least, that he moved quickly left for some reason and then fired.

As for the guy with the head wound, only Astland and God know whether he was conscious or unconscious and the only thing that counts is if the pharmacist felt a threat. His quick movements indicates he did.

His lawyer will point that out in court and there will be some jurors who agree with my reasoning I suspect. MHO, he'll be acquitted.

Like Obama, you are a towering intellect and it is difficult for the hoi polloi to operate on such a high level.

Something is wrong with the prosecutor.

Yes ... he's suffering from a deplorable lack of tar and feathers on his skin.
