SPRINGFIELD Senate candidate Mark Kirk says he ``got the message'' from Republicans who were outraged that he supported pollution limits that some people consider a hidden tax.
Kirk said Tuesday that he has heard from plenty of people angry that he voted for ``cap-and-trade'' when the U.S. House considered the measure recently. The plan would cap the pollution that companies can release but then allow them to buy and sell permits for more emissions.
Critics say cap-and-trade would drive up the cost of electricity and goods.
Kirk says he can't take back his vote but he understands why people are angry.
He wouldn't specifically promise to oppose cap-and-trade if he is elected to the Senate. Kirk did list changes he thinks would have to be part of any energy bill.

I thought the GOP might actually attempt to win the Obama-Burris Senate seat. I guess I was wrong. Here Kirk is saying he "got the message" about his cap and tax vote. But the weasel clearly did not as he refuses to say it was wrong.

But the weasel clearly did not as he refuses to say it was wrong.Exactly. The guy's a lying sleazeball.

If he read what he signed to dictate us small people, he could respond with reason.
He didn't read the law imposed on us.

Kirk says he can't take back his vote but he understands why people are angry. He could start gaining forgiveness if he explained the bribe that convinced him to vote against the interests of the American people -- and returned it!

Time to tell the IL Republican Party that running this LIBERAL DEMOCRAT for the U.S. Senate is 100% unacceptable.

He's starting to sound like Slick Willie during his '94 smackdown from the electorate (shucks ah learned mah lesson and I see why you're upset with me... but gosh, NO I can't promise I'll repeal any the crap I passed...) Next the little socialist weasel will give a speech proclaiming "the era of big government is over".
Any freepers who STILL believe this backstabbing slime after his betrayal on ACORN, Iraq, and Cap-and-Trade... I got a bridge to sell 'em. :-)

Kirk did not get the message. The message is he should be getting some job applications out and hope for the best.

This guy isn’t even a rino, he’s a freakin’ dim in disguise. Ya’ll boneheads in Illinois need to just vote your conscience and maybe you can make up for forcing zero and Dickh@ad Durbin on us all.
To: Lawgvr1955
The only message he got he threw in the round can. He is just giving it lip service because enough people complained. He doesn’t even know what CO2 is.

It doesn’t help a bit if he apologies for all his votes after he makes them. He has still advanced the Socialist Democrat program.

Mr. Kirk needs to STFU. He voted for a terrible piece of legislation that he could not possibly have read and whose import he does not understand in order to curry favor with certain vocal activists who are hostile to ordinary Americans.
This makes him profoundly unfit to serve in the Congress. In this he is not unique.
