So does that mean I have to shelf my vacuum tube design and Fortran 4 skills as well ...
This same publication had the following list of obsolete IT skills in 2007 :
1. Cobol
2. Nonrelational DBMS
3. Non-IP networks
4. cc:Mail
5. ColdFusion
6. C programming
7. PowerBuilder
8. Certified NetWare Engineers
9. PC network administrators
10. OS/2
Tubes live!
Gee, how about 360 assembler and JCL? I guess I am finished.
Dust off your plotgo and redesign the eglet... (or Eglait if you'll be submitting your design to JohnFKerry)
LOL - Fortran was the first thing that sprang to my mind, too. That was my first language...which I suppose qualifies me as a dinosaur.
Keep your soldering iron hot for tubes, though - they still rule the audio roost. :-)
Does this mean my X.25 is still in demand?
Hmmm, guess I may need to migrate from Pascal.
;>D
Let’s not forget our keypunching skills!
keypunch? what’s that?! These kids nowadays! no respect for what we had to go through to get where they are today.
Not if you can design a vacuum tube that is about .002 inches in size:).I personally like the audio tubes produced compared to solid state and digital, but that is just an old ham talking I guess.
