Update from Palin Attorney Thomas Van Flein "All options are open in terms of legal remedies. It is a clear violation of Alaska law that Mr. Daniel explicitly reviewed with Ms. Chatman prior to her illegal actions. We will be contacting the appropriate authorities for review and action."

Additional Statement from Statement from Palin Attorney Thomas Van Flein Regarding Legal Fund News Report
"The resolution of the Trust Fund is not final. I have been working with the investigator regarding supplemental information. The matter is still pending. Whatever you have seen was released in violation of law. There has been no Board finding of an ethics violation and there is a detailed legal process to follow before there is a final resolution."

An investigator for the state Personnel Board [I'm sure this 'official' has no axe to grind]
says in his July 14 report that there is probable cause to believe Palin used or attempted to use her official position for personal gain because she authorized the creation of the trust as the "official" legal defense fund.Give it up Libs; another one [bogus ethics charge] will bite the dust.

Folks, they are just picking our candidate for 2012.

I do not, at this point, support Sarah Palin in a run for the Presidency. I do however hope she sues the living hell out of everybody that has filed some kind of vindictive “ethics violation” against her. It's time they pay out of their own pockets.
To: Hostage
I thought Sarah committed political suicide on July 3 but crap like this just proves to me how wrong I was. They are scared to death of her and will stop at nothing to destroy her. The more they attack the more drawn to her I am!

What?! You mean her legal bills weren’t paid with public funds?

The libs hate her and will try anything and everything to take her down. I wonder how many congressmen aren't guilty of this?

The question is becoming how do we make it sufficiently hot for the complatent to never bother doing this again? Room temperature should be sufficient.

Yep, damned if you do and damned if you don't.
Regardless, this is more anklebiting BS, and quite frankly, after all the frivolous complaints to date, no one is going to take this one seriously either.

I wonder what chapter of ACORN the “independent” investigator belongs to.
My guess is this is just more unsubstantiated garbage about Palin.
I wish these bastards who keep picking on her meet the right people in the right place someday.

Alaska Statute (AS) 39.52.130 Improper Gifts provides as follows, (a) a public official may not solicit, accept, or receive, directly or indirectly, a gift, whether in the form of money, service, loan, travel, entertainment, hospitality, employment, promise, or in any other form, that is a benefit to the officers personal or financial interests, under circumstances in which it could reasonably be inferred that the gift is intended to influence the performance of official duties, actions or judgment.
This is the relevant portion of Alaskan law. The so called investigator has an axe to grind
