For all the attention generated by last year's presidential race, census figures show the share of eligible voters who actually went to the polls in November declined from 2004.

According to the data, more older whites opted to stay home compared with 2004, citing little interest in supporting either Barack Obama or John McCain.

That’s nice. Many of these folks will be dead by 2012.

Uninformed yutes and colored people got us in the situation we’re in now

that along with folks who stayed home. That should teach us NOT to ever stay home on election day. I would rather win with a “Republican-LITE” opposed to let them with with a democrat of any flavor - PERIOD. From a coaching stand point a win is a win no matter how you look at it.

Thank the idiots that gave them the choice between McCain and Obama. Both disasters in making. McCain may have been the lesser evil, but he was still a terrible choice.

Based on this data, I demand tax payer funded ACORN spend at least half of their time and money in rural white areas registering voters who are more likely to vote conservative and getting them out to vote.

How about when McPain suspended his campaign to go to Washington to solve the “crisis” only to find there was no role for him? Somehow he managed to make Zero look like the cooler, more experienced hand.

I don't believe in conspiracy theories and don't think anyone with a legitimate shot at the presidency voluntarily gives it up, but it's hard to see what McCain could have done different to intentionally blow it.

"Voting Rate Down As Older Whites Stayed Home"

This was partially offset by a record number of Mexican citizens and wise Latinas illegally voting in the US election.

If we don't take back congress there will be no way to stop the rampant cheating by ACORN and the Black Panther Liberation Army or whatever the thugs are calling themselves these days.

Don't forget the elected state and county election officials, and the various offices controlling voter registration. Democrats heavily target these positions to assist with their vote fraud and to run interference against fraud complaints and investigations.

You got it.

Pandering to La Raza types only means you’ll lose otherwise conservative voters.

"Thanks you old coots!"

wELL this OLD coot did note and has in every election since Ike. And in my Parties and elections class, the statistics for VTO (voter turn out) during a presidential election was 52%. And that data was only four years ago. In VTO, The United States is trailed only be Switzerland. So you other 48% get off your butts and until you do, don't bitch.

Exactly, both parties are tone deaf in their neat DC towers. OTOH neither candidate is a product of a vacuum. That is, the electorate chose them! We’re most of the problem really. Until voters wake up and take the time to become informed nothing will change.

By the way, I am not a Republocant, so you have to talk to those “punks” that nominate RINO’s and other psuedo conservatives.

I agree 100%. Simply making a silly statement and everyone gets all riled up. I have to be more careful to ensure that people know when I write something in jest.

Sometimes people get sick and tired of being sick and tired! People told themselves that they are all crooks and they gave up thinking it would not matter which head of the two headed monster was in power.

But, if nothing else, Obama’s Death plan for the eldery ought to get them out of their funk. Them not voting against the socialists, could make things a lot worse.

Wasn’t being “testy” unless you consider saying get up off your butts and vote. Then, I don’t even know if that applies to you as I don’t know if you;re one of the 48% that doesn’t vote. And I don’t know if it does come with old age. I’ll let you know when I get there. I haven’t even reached 80 yet. But stay tuned.

They stayed home in 2006 too. Maybe they should just join the Democratic party. Most get a goverment check anyway. I doubt if they are going to vote against any cutbacks there anyway.

Rex, you certainly are correct. This Obama administration is in the process of destroying the country we knew and it is not the fault of Republicans Those who did not do all they could to stop it might be responsible but those who voted Republican are not responsible. See my tagline.
