Violent crime has plummeted in the Washington area and in major cities across the country, a trend criminologists describe as baffling and unexpected.
The District, New York and Los Angeles are on track for fewer killings this year than in any other year in at least four decades. Boston, San Francisco, Minneapolis and other cities are also seeing notable reductions in homicides.

If a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound?
Folks is to broke to rob.
My guess is that the inner city thugs have killed so many of their own kind, there’s fewer and fewer of them to commit more crimes.

Nah, crime only “appears” to go down, because the criminals took up politics instead.
Or The One has enchanted the masses into calm...;^)
Perhaps it has to do with how crime is (or is not) reported...?
There has never been a period of greater guns & ammo sales than in the last 8-9 months. The reason there is no corresponding spike in crime is that these sales were to law abiding citizens.
ACORN must be doing the crime “analysis”.
