Golly that must be one crazy delicious ham!
I'll bet it's spiral cut razor thin with a brown sugar glaze and those pineapple chunks and maraschino cherries on the outside while it's being baked.
I checked out all of CA. Del Monte is getting some good money. Alot of work is being done on our military bases.
I checked out all of CA. Del Monte is getting some good money, for what, I don’t know. Also alot of work is being done on our military bases.

(((YuMmmmm)))You just made my mouth water. All I to eat is a have is a banana and yogurt.
I suspect that book is outdated and needs an upgrade. It will have 1000 pages under the listing PORK. (Ham?)
>>Wait, does this mean we spent 2.5 million dollars on 2 lb of ham? It couldn’t be 2 lb containers of ham, half a million of them or something, could it?<<
I was wondering that too — is this for multiples of these items? Or would that be noted on the pages drudge linked to?
Nothing there. Although that in itself should be cause for some alarm.
Interestingly, I ran the names of the executives for the first ham company through opensecrets.org and came up empty.
Then I ran the Hormel people through and aside from a lot of Norm Coleman donations, I really didn't see much.
It's not unlikely that I'm missing something though, with this crew behind the wheel.
They're going to get rid of Biden!!
The quantity on the ham is 2 pounds for the bargain price of just a little under $1.2 million. I saw nothing on the page indicating any other sort of quantity. Here's a screen capture:
If that were the case, the number of units being purchased would be listed. There's no number of units on the page at all.
If they're even real companies, you mean.
I looked at the ones from my state- there were two contracts locally; one for $60,000 in road signs for a town that probably has only 400 summer residents. The other was for some $80,000 road project in a very small town, way out in the boonies. Makes one wonder...
They have responded saying it is food for food assistance/soup kitchens.

Must be WAGYU Ham................
See post # 95.
That makes a lot more sense than the original posting. I have to wonder why in the world the 760,000 pound figure wasn’t listed on the recovery.gov posting.
Yeah exactly. Especially since 18 million was spent on the very site.
Agriculture Sec. Vilsack: ‘Purchased 760,000 Lbs of ham at cost of approximately $1.50 per pound’...
FOOD LION: $.79 Lb...
