All recent czars and nominees have been black. I think we can safely say we have a trend now: Whites need not apply in this administration.
Berrien, a Democrat, is known for her work in directing the NAACP’s Legal Defense and Educational Fund’s advocacy and scholarship programs. Prior to her current job, she served as a program officer for the Ford Foundation’s Peace and Social Justice Program and also worked as a staff attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union.
