Earlier this week, ABC, CBS and NBC all noted the tenth anniversary of the death of John F. Kennedy, Jr. That Kennedy was an icon according to CBSs Harry Smith, and the Prince of Camelot to ABCs Chris Cuomo, a former cousin-in-law. Today marks the 40th anniversary of the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, killed July 18, 1969 after leaving a party with Senator Edward Kennedy. That night, Kennedy drove his car off a bridge, and left the scene with Kopechne still in the submerged vehicle; he did not call the police until the following morning.
Over the course of the past four decades, the media elite have touted Kennedy as a liberal lion, spending far more time celebrating his ideological agenda than reminding people of his behavior that night in 1969. As my colleague Brent Baker noted in an op-ed back in 1999, the media have come to refer to Chappaquiddick as a Kennedy tragedy, not a Kopechne tragedy.

Rumors of one with Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield. I was a teen when all of this happened. He had a “straight arrow” image, but I think a lot has come out since then.
I think we all had rosy images of the Kennedys. Most of the “dirt” on John F. Kennedy really didn’t come out till after he was killed.
My mother turned 89 today.
MaryJo never even got to be 39.

NEVER FORGET
.
JOHN KENNEDY sent Americans to Earth’s Moon, ahead of everybody else.
TED KENNEDY avoided their leaving the Earth, in favor of going Adult Scuba Diving at night.
TED KENNEDY fooled a new post-WATERGATE Democrat Congress into cutting off all U.S. funding for the then FREE South Vietnamese people to fight for their own FREEDOM with.
And then into cutting off all U.S. Humanitarian Aid for them to treat their resulting military and civilian war casualties with.
TED KENNEDY toured Military Operations for FREEDOM, in a then FREE South Vietnam, at the very beginning of the Vietnam War to see in person exactly what the Vietnam War was all about.

I’ll be celebrating that day . Let him rot in hell with the rest of that Kennedy trash
I’d give you a southerners definition of a yankee, a damned yankee and a good yankee , but it would get me banned
What is amazing is that this made the news at all...
With the first moon landing hours away dominating the news...
The state controlled media has certainly learned from their mistakes...
I’m still trying to find ytedk.com...Paranoia is starting to set in.
My wife upon hearing of Kennedy’s tumor and subsequent operation, said something about “that poor man”
and I quickly retorted....
...”yeah that poor Mary Jo Kopechne”
There was an effort to exhume the body from what I’ve read, but the judge refused to sign the order.
I find that more insulting to Mary Jo than to Ted Kennedy. That’s just degrading.
I forget which talk show host recently said it, but he pointed out the irony that the culmination of brother Jack’s space vision was wiped off the front pages the very next day by brother Ted’s vision of depravity. OK, that last word was my contribution.
he did not call the police until the following morningGet off his back. It took him all night to raise the bribe money.
Yep. Teddy murdered Mary Jo on July 19, 1969. Joe Kennedy died November 18, 1969.
