yes but Syria “shares” a border with Israel. Iran does not
.nor is the targed area anywhere near by the sea or something. so i really do not see the slightest chance how they could get out alive once Iran is on full allert. I think even the pilots of the attacking fighters have a Fat chance that many of them will never see Israel again. but ground troops? (even if they are highly capable special forces). i don´t think it would be possible to survive this.

You seem to be unfamiliar with the siting of Iran’s nuclear assets. The only nuclear power plant, Bushier, is located not far from a coast. Once Bushier is destroyed, which can be accomplished by air, there is no reason to continue a full fuel cycle unless you want to build nuclear weapons. It’s irrefutable that Iran is seeking nuclear weapons capability.

I suspect the commandos are readying for a mission we can’t fathom at this point. It is not to eliminate Iran’s nuclear power plant. As previously mentioned removing the human assets would be a huge set back for Iran.

This is not without precedent. The raid on the Osirak reactor was thought to be a one way mission. The pilots knew they may not make it back, considering their fuel load, low altitude flying, and distance. Knowing the risk, they did it anyway. They were successful in destroying the reactor and returning safely. Never doubt their resolve and ability to achieve the seemingly impossible....especially when their existence is at stake.

That's because the Iranians have SAMs deployed to protect their important nuclear and missile sites. Iranian armed guards patrol the intended targets.

They have a designated rendezvous point somewhere.

Some will make it there in time, some will not.

That location will be FAR from any Iranian ground troops...far enough that C-130s (with F15 cover)can land and take off before bad guys can get there.

Now, as long as they don't have a crash in the desert, they'll be OK.

You just don’t know how good these commandos are. When you are surrounded by 1 billion muslim idiots, who want to wipe you of the face of the earth; you have to be ready for anything. They have a very good search and rescue units that train all the time. I don’t think they will be painting any targets(lasers)they would be used in counter- terrorism ops. That is why Israel bought 16000 JDAM kits in 2007, they will use GPS or something similar to guide the bombs to the targets.
