The weirdly persistent belief held by many Americans that President Barack Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States has been back in the news lately thanks to Major Stefan Cook, the "birther" soldier who was granted conscientious objector status because he refused to fight for a president he believes is illegitimate. There's also a bill gathering some support in the House that would change election law to require candidates to prove their citizenship.

The beginning of the changing of the subject.
Why does the author of the article or anyone else, find it “weird” that We The People want to see proof The Usurper is not a usurper?
Guilty is as Guilty does, and he is guilty.
NPR?!
Someone’s concerned.
Anybody wanna' bet ol' Josh probably doesn't qualify?
Actually - based on the father Obama is not natural born and never can be. Only possibility is Frank Marshall is the father and even if Obama 1 is the father - they will try to claim the AA comunist is the real father. My bet is he was born in Kenya.
What an idiot. The natural born clause was put there to, hopefully, prevent a President (Commander in Chief) from being influenced by foreign entanglements.
Besides, the Constitution was designed to protect the citizens of the United States, not those who are seeking office. Who gives a holy crap that a certain person cannot be President. There are plenty of potentially good Presidents available from the Constitutionally restricted population. This is not about Obama. It is about the people and Constitution of the United States.
I thought it was crappy that Reagan could not run for a third term. But our Constitution said he could not. I accepted that. There certainly weren’t any liberals whining that Reagan could not run again.
I honestly thought that the birth certificate thing was probably bogus. The fact that government radio is now changing the subject from, “He was born in Hawaii” to “It shouldn’t matter where he was born”, makes me think that Obama may have been born elsewhere, or was a citizen of another country.
Oh My! NPR would rather denounce the Founder’s protections for our highest office (ie. the Natural Born Citizen requirement) than to do some investigative reporting on the subject! SO PATHETIC!
Naturalized citizens like Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski, and Madeline Albright have been allowed into the highest positions in the U.S. national security establishment without anyone questioning their loyalty.
Not ONE of those people served in a position that the Constitution SPECIFICALLY requires that the office holder be a "Natural Born Citizen".
It is also the same clause that requires Presidents to also be at least 35 years of age and a resident of the United States for at least 14 years...though nobody that I'm aware of has even attempted to circumvent those. Would these same retards decide those portions are anachronistic?
NPR is trying to start the meme that NOT allowing unAmericans to be President is unAmerican.
Ahhhh .... the Liberal Word Redefinition Game! I’ve seen that played before!
Also, an admittance that they start to believe Obama’s illigitimacy to the presidency. It just shows that these bastards put no value on the US Constitution.
Also, clear proof that no one at NPR has bothered to read the Federalist Papers to find out why the “natural born” provision was included in the first place. Or, NPR people think they are smarter and wiser than the Founding Fathers. Probably both.
That rationale is absolutely asinine.
This is the change Barry hoped for ... that the affirmative action status would make America set aside the Constitution to embrace this marxist bastard.
The gov’t run program asks:
“Let’s imagine that Barack Obama had been born in Indonesia or Kenya or anywhere else for that matter, and hadn’t become a citizen until moving to Hawaii to live with his grandparents. Is there one good reason why that would make him less fit to be president?”
Sounds like an implied admission that Obama is NOT a natural born citizen.
“Only possibility is Frank Marshall” (Davis)
If Frank Marshall Davis is the father of BHO, then he would be a Natural Born U.S. Citizen and a Natural Born Communist.
“My bet is he was born in Kenya.”
If BHO was born in Kenya, he is not nor ever was a U.S. citizen.

This is going to be interesting.

Birther or believer?
http://www.beaufortobserver.net/Articles-c-2009-07-14-236446.112112_Birther_or_believer.html
Dr. Orly Taitz, attorney for Alan Keyes in Keyes vs. Obama, announced late this evening that a judge has ruled in favor of Mr Keyes’ request for a trial to discover whether or not Obama is an American citizen and, as such, entitled to be President of the United States of America.
Two weeks ago, World Net Daily posted a story outlining the difficulties Taitz encountered in attempting to serve the President with a subpoena. Taitz has filed multiple legal actions around the country alleging Obama does not meet the constitutional requirements to occupy the Oval Office.
Monday’s hearing was on a request by Taitz for a default judgment, since she notified the president of the action weeks ago, and his lawyers failed to respond.
U.S. District Judge David O. Carter ruled in favor of Taitz and granted the “motion for reconsideration of order to show cause or in the alternative to certify question for appeal.”. A trial date will be set and Taitz “will immediately request access to Obama’s birth records and other documentation that could determine his eligibility to occupy the Oval Office.”
Underlying liberal philosopy within the quote.
Yep, and how about the TOTUS spending over a million bucks to hide that pesky old document?
Of course the naturally born citizen issue is just the overall indicator that this guy is a wholesale fraud and what used to be called a “put up job.”
A false front used by the militant left as a foil while the Nancys, the Schumers, the Barneys and the other leftist Congress-rulers-for-life milk this system for their party. The history of FDR’s destruction is being repeated.
