t's full steam ahead for ObamaCare -- the radical health-care "reform" pack age that Congressional Democrats are trying to steamroll to passage by the end of the summer. And now America is beginning to learn how much it will cost -- and who'll pay the tab.
* How much? Somewhere between $600 billion and $1.5 trillion, depending on whether the Senate or House version ultimately is adopted.
* Who pays? You. In cash, for sure -- and maybe with your job, too.

This pernicious plan is not about our health, but about control over every aspect of our lives. It must be defeated at all cost.
“This pernicious plan is not about our health, but about control over every aspect of our lives”
BINGO
Uh Oh!
Nah, about the time they're ready to vote on this, Cher will kick the bucket and the American people will be distracted.
He has always said he favored a bi-partisan bill. He's the one that gutted a reconciliation vote (passing it by simple majority...51 votes.)
He is a moderate Democrat who is hearing PLENTY from both sides in his state. If he doesn't ram it thru his committee it won't come to the Senate floor for a vote.

Bump
The issue of cost won’t sink this bill. The majority of he population doesn’t care because they think somebody else will pay.
No, what will sink this bill is when word gets out about how it’s designed to destroy all private insurance. For the life of me, I can’t understand why the GOP is only talking about the cost when the loss of freedom is a much more powerful argument.
If you don’t get laid off, and your employer decides to go with the “Public Option,” you are just as screwed.
I’ve talked to some of these people... someone approaching “elderly”, even.
“It’ll be great because it will all be free!”
yeah, but you won’t be able to get it, or have to wait a really long time to get it.
“But it’ll be free!”
Because most of the GOP politicians are working on turning the whole thing to their individual advantages. This "freedom" concept isn't even on their radar screen.
Its really past time for taxpayers to revolt.
That may be, but why aren’t the insurance companies freaking out? This will put them 100% out of business because there is a clause prohibiting enrollment in ANY new policies after the beginning of the year in which it takes effect. Section 102, Paragraph a(1).
It is strange. There must something in it for them somewhere.
I've been thinking along this line a lot more often recently. With Congress in a suicidal mindset to ram all this legislation through without even bothering to actually write, much less read it, perhaps it's Time.
Perhaps it's TIME:
1) For companies to refuse to comply with anything that Congress passes.
2) For citizens to refuse to sign up for ObamaCare.
3) For a little citizens revolution of their own.
I'm ready to completely ignore anything Obama/Congress signs into Law. I certainly won't get any help from the GOP; they're too busy trying to get invited to all the cool parties.
I'm ready to simply say, "No more. Give me Liberty or give me Death."
You’re hanging your jubblies out in the wind with that plan.
The better plan would be for the states to pass “opt out” legislation within their borders.
They may be keeping their powder dry (and their $$) for when this hits the Senate, where they have a much better chance of killing it.
