Noble Not Guilty Of Disrupting Public Gathering BEAVER (KDKA)
Hours after asking a judge to send them home because they were "frazzled," a Beaver County jury found John Noble not guilty of disrupting a public gathering when he brought a gun to a campaign rally for President Barack Obama.
The judge also found Noble not guilty of disorderly conduct.
Noble was accused of causing a disturbance by bringing a gun to the rally in Beaver County last year.
Though he had proper permits to carry the firearm, a trooper arrested him for disrupting a public gathering.
During the trial, Noble testified that he wanted to educate people about the right to carry firearms after Obama characterized Pennsylvanians as clinging to guns and religion.
After less than five hours of deliberations yesterday, the judge sent jurors home last night without a verdict.
The judge said it was the first time that a jury asked to go home because they were "frazzled."
Deliberations resumed this morning; and about two hours later, the jury reached their decision.
Had he been convicted of the third-degree misdemeanor, Noble could have faced as much as one year in jail and fines of up to $2,500.

Ping!
BTTT!
It sucks that he was charged with anything in the first place.
When will we ever arrive at a point where we don’t have to “prove” our rights in court?
I live in Illinois, where it is illegal to even think about guns.
Jury: yes. If this had been an activist judge, oh let’s not go there.
If only the case had been heard by a wise Latina judge!
Open carry is a basic human and American right.
I am fortunate to live in a county that respects the right to bear arms and issues conceal carry permits.
Unfortunately my state lets each county sheriff make the call for his ocunty instead of making this constitutional right a basic right for all citizens, and sheriffs in counties neighboring mine are not so inclined to issue.
Of course conceal carry permits are an unconstitutional restriction in themselves, but that is another issue.
I carry almost everywhere in my home state, as do many of my friends and neighbors, but today in a different state my gun is in my suitcase. I will put it back in my pocket when I cross my state line again.
It is hard for me to understand the mentality behind bannning guns.
“I live in Illinois, where it is illegal to even think about guns.” Who is always shooting those people in Chicago? Must be tourist.
Control, pure and simple. They're afraid of our ability to defend our freedom.
Where the hell did this bit of common sense come from?
(I had to read this twice to be sure I clearly understood it.)
We're in the boonies of Pennsylvania and we don't have to think about them, they're as ordinary as duct tape and mason jars. You should consider moving here!
“The judge said it was the first time that a jury asked to go home because they were “frazzled.” “
I bet there was a lot of “well, he’s legally in his right but it just *feels* wrong” going on.
The frazzled ones were probably those thinking “well, he’s legally in his right.”
The jury should have only taken 5 minutes to come to that conclusion.

The first question that came to mind - is Mr. Noble white?
They could have saved a lot of tax dollars by not charging him in the first place, the damnfools.
They wanted to punish him for exercising his First and Second Amendment rights in full compliance with the letter of the law, and it’s nice to see that they failed utterly.
Yes.
See the discussion thread on http://www.pafoa.com/ - the Pennsylvania Firearms Owners Assocation.
The nice thing about this court case now is that he can proceed to sue the police in federal court for violation of his civil rights under color of law.
Gun Control=People Control, simple math. If one was looking for proof check IRAN today where 40-50 State police can control thousands of protesters.
History also proves the obvious.
heh heh
