So what you are saying is that the electoral college could then vote for anyone for president..even if they are not a US citizen? Seems like a gap there if that is true? The founding fathers had no idea what a mess we would get ourselves into!

Yes, they can vote for ANYONE (with the assumption of Constitutional qualification).
