Actually, Caviezel is not an obscure actor. Thankfully, he’s selective about the film projects he’s involved in. We’ve seen several of his films(all quality productions and performances. Namely The Passion of the Christ and I Am David).
From what I understand, the actor comes from a close family, and is relatively conservative.
His best film was High Crimes and that was over 7 years ago. He did a few others since then but probably does pick and chose what he wants to be in. A great family man does not equal well known actor.
Well how about Thin Red Line? That was the first I ever saw of him. I think it’s a great movie. I guess it’s really an antiwar movie, but it didn’t seem overloaded with doctrine or politics. There was room to admire the guys you were supposed to hate.
He also starred in “The Count of Monte Cristo.”
