Letter: McCain should not run again

I am 58 years old and a lifelong Republican. I am writing this letter on behalf of myself and countless other Republicans who feel the same way I do. I am that good person who is tired of sitting back and doing nothing to change our government for the better.
I am calling on Sen. John McCain not to run again for the Senate from Arizona. He has served that state as a progressive Republican for a very long time and for the most part, I believe, honorably. There are two problems with that statement one, that he is a progressive Republican and, two, that he has served for a very long time.
Over the past nine months, it has become clear that the Founders were correct in their thoughts that our representatives should serve only one or two terms and then return to their chosen professions and lives. Career politicians are part of the huge problems we are facing today.
Theres nothing wrong with being a progressive Republican. McCain just shouldnt profess to be a conservative. He is not and every conservative knows it. Teddy Roosevelt is his favorite president? Hes the biggest progressive ever except for Woodrow Wilson and our current president.
The main reason Im asking McCain not to run is the latest attack on Gov. Sarah Palin from the people who ran his campaign. He never defended her. He never reprimanded the people for doing the hatchet job. This speaks to his character. Either he never had any control over those staffers or he didnt care. This leads me to wonder what kind of president he would have made.
He might ask what gives me the right to ask him not to run. Well, he did run for president. He wanted my money to fund his campaign. His party still wants my money to fund his re-election. He belongs to the party thats supposed to support my views (and doesnt). Thats what gives me the right.

Republican Commissars Warning: By joining this ping list, you may be subjected to the delusional rants and ramblings of McCainiacs, of "moderate" Republicans, of pragmatic conservatives resigned to voting for the lesser of two Democrats, and of countless RNC shills who simply want to meet a new overlord. |

I can provide a list of who else should not run again. Just pick it up from the Republican Ballot last election cycle.
We have everything going our way except candidates.

We would all be far better off if he would just go away and never open his yapper again... and take about fifty big name RINOs into oblivion with him.

Isn’t the FL primary closed? FL has many liberal Republicans who came there from PA and NY.

Well... perky is not an adjective I would use (disgusting, perhaps), but, YES, he should take that obnoxious dim bulb with him.

This is going to be the hardest thing for me as a Palin fan to handle. She is going to back maclame over a conservative, this is what she is fighting against. Loyalty is fine but this will hurt.

Mike Huckabee called me yesterday — it was a robocall from him with a survey. I hung up immediately. Why doesn’t this guy just give the hell up? IT’S OVER!!! He is so desperate to be president I’m embarrassed for him.
