The end of life counseling that is mandated every few months by Zerocare is one of the most chilling but not the most destructive part of this heinous bill.

From what is happening in my area, I think it has already begun. Several nurses have quit. Yesterday, one I've only seen twice, is all for the "reform." She talked to me about how wonderful the Hospice is - how they make patients comfortable. And, I commented, "On morphine, which dehydrates and hastens death. My medical history and Living Will specifically states - NO MORPHINE!" They can starve me to death, but depriving people of water is cruel.

Out of the blue, she asked, "Do you believe in life after death?" "Yes," but I let it go at that.

Last Thursday, a corporate social worker visited. She's also a psychologist. Suggested that I could benefit from therapy! I'm not depressed but I'm becoming somewhat paranoid that these people are trying to indoctrinate me, though I won't admit it to them. :)

Our pastor came to give us communion today, as he does every Sunday. I told him what's been going on, and about this nurse and social worker. His sermons for the next few weeks will be on David's despair and the 23rd Psalm, line by line.

Listening to him puts everything back in perspective, and cheers us.

You are going through this type of situation? If so, God bless you. Yes, thank God for His promises and for our heavenly home to which we can look with joy and comfort.
