I agree with huckabee here.

Going third party is equivalent to opting out of the political system and deciding to have no voice.

Work to make the republican party better, don’t abandon it.

I’ve decided that our country is run by two organized crime families.

The Republicans and the Democrats.

We are caught in the middle of their turf war.

Working to get real conservatives elected is not a waste. The GOP abandoned conservatives at least twenty years ago. No go and play nice or else. That brought us a congress that spent like drunken dems and a ‘compassionate’ president who is only slightly better than a dem

Given the history of third party movements,
anything that is really popular will be absorbed by
one of the major parties, nullifying the third party.

This is what is happening. All this talk of third parties is just a warning shot to the GOP. They will eventually embrace the issues and ideology of the popular third party, because they know it is mutual suicide to do otherwise.

And what good exacytly is it being in the RINO party?

Actually I think a third party, if big enough, can control the landscape. Lets say Palin gets 20% of the GOP, takes their balls right off.

Which is what the RINOs want to do to Conservatives.

Palin as spokesman would be nice ... put the moose back in Colonel Obama’s shorts.

“Work to make the republican party better, don’t abandon it.

I'm about as happy with abandoning it as making it better. If we don't get a real conservative as the nominee this time. I will abandon it. And I sure don't consider Huckabee to be the one to help lead the RINOS out of the wilderness. If Sarah leaves the republican party, it will crash and burn. Perhaps, out of the ashes, a conservative party can rise up. As it stands right now, I (and most conservatives) won't move left, and the liberals won't move right. That kind of leaves it BROKE...

"That would be a big mistake because we need to rebuild the Republican Party, not abandon it.""

I'll be voting and paying my dues in "The New Republican Party".

You can go down with the old, rotting ship of the old if you like.

It's not really going "third party". It'll be more like a membership raid of a New GOP against the Old GOP. A party split- Rino's to the left, Conservatives to the right.

I can't begin to tell you how much I disagree with your comments. IF Gov. Palin should decide to go 3rd party, I believe she will take far more people with her than Ross Perot ever dreamed of. It isn't the party, it's the people the party represents and the people who represent the party.

In addition, LOTS and LOTS of us have been trying to work with the GOP to make it better. The problem is that the GOP is selectively deaf and doesn't hear us!! How long can you yell at a waterfall before you accept the fact that the waterfall isn't going to answer you???
