I met a tugboat driver who was a civilian reservist and he said that to hold that job one needed to be a reservist and if your depoyable status was changed you could actually lose the job. Further info on this guy it appears he wasn't a DOD employee but a contractor so apparrently someone brought power to bear on his employer who then caved. Sux but there it is. We could "bring our power to bear" and boycott the employer but I doubt many freepers use their services and probably the DOD is their only customer. If the pubbies had any cajones thiswould be an issue but we all know the answer to that so this story is officially over.

I met a tugboat driver Sounds like BS to me. I have worked with all sorts of folks in and out of the military, and the military's customers. I've never heard anyone talk about reservists.
