France has condemned the flogging of several women in Sudan, who were being punished for wearing trousers.
The foreign ministry called on Khartoum to abandon the prosecution of several others charged with the same offence.

The irony - this will be happening in parts of France soon with their large muslim population...
When the trousers are too low and tight (or too loose on males), a flogging might be called for.
I agree. It simply depends upon the woman and the cut and fit of the pants.
It's a lot easier to make such comments when you are in no danger yourself of being subject to such treatment.
In this country, women get beat for wearing short skirts (but usually by their partners)

Why was she canonized a Catholic saint?
Because the worthless French King, restored to prominence and properly crowned (thanks to Joan’s battlefield victories), was criticized for being “King” thanks to a “burned at the stake witch” — a criticism that faded after the Church canonized Joan.
Non-Islamic countries should start worrying about Islam within their borders.
